You’re looking for therapy because you want something in your life to change. Maybe you want to feel different, break out of patterns you find yourself in, have better relationships, or achieve goals, but you feel blocked. The place you’re in may be incredibly painful, but I believe it holds enormous potential. Your pain is an invitation to deeper healing and growth and a sign that you desire something more. I help clients like you find deep and lasting change.

Therapy doesn't have to be abstract, pathologizing, or endless. I love working with people who have a big vision, dream, or calling—folks facing daunting endeavors—and helping them get there. Scholars and scientists; creatives and artists; healers and spiritualists; founders, leaders, builders, and entrepreneurs; change-makers and activists; folks in tech and startups, especially public benefit and non-profit—critical and divergent thinkers who find it hard to just "go through the motions" or engage with the norm. People with big picture mindsets and deep, niche interests, focused on differences that make a difference.

My practice includes people from a wide range of identities and lived experiences, including queer and trans individuals, immigrants and children of immigrants, neurodivergent people, and teens transitioning into adulthood.
Reconnect with who you are beneath who you've had to be. What once helped you get through may now feel exhausting, lonely, or limiting. Over time, this can lead to feeling unsure of what you want or need, or stuck in patterns and relationships that no longer fit. Many of my client's are looking for a thoughtful, supportive process to make sense of their experiences and rebuild self trust. I offer relational, collaborative therapy for people who want place where they don’t have to perform, explain themselves perfectly, or already know what they need. We move at your pace, with choice and autonomy at the center.

Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you're searching for a qualified, compassionate Mental Health Counselor, you’re in the right place. Life is challenging, and we all face struggles that can feel impossible to navigate on our own. Avoiding our fears and emotions may seem like a way to protect ourselves, but in the long run, it can hold us back from growth and healing.

I see both adults and teens (14+) and have always held dear my work with LGBT+ populations.
As an existentialist, I want to abandon standard assumptions of self and explore how you see your place in the world. I try to stay curious and energetic to facilitate your personal exploration. I'll step into the expert role when it’s needed but I think therapy is most productive when I’m less clinical and more an informed, supportive, and honest companion.

Starting therapy can feel like stepping into the unknown, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to even consider that step. I hold a deep belief that every person is inherently worthy of healing and meaningful change. I am here to provide a nonjudgmental, safe, and welcoming space, where you are free to show up as you are. I’ll support you in practicing how to align with your values and your voice, while uncovering answers that already lie within you. I recognize that I am not the expert of your life, but rather a guide that can walk alongside you as you uncover your own truths.

Having obtained my specialization in trauma and abuse while navigating the pandemic, I am deeply prepared to work through the complex and compound trauma that individuals experienced in the last few years. Working from an attachment and interpersonal neurobiological approach, I engage with clients relationally, and work to invite them into exploring their own patterns of relating and behaving. Our trauma deeply impacts our ability to connect with and relate to ourselves and others, thus impacting our ability to handle life's stress and many challenges. I hope to create a structure of hope and stability for each client I work with.

My focus is on teens, young adults, and parents of children with challenging behaviors.
I am trained in using the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide (CAMS) model for managing suicidal ideation. When parents are seeking care for challenging behavior, I bring compassionate, humanistic approach to understanding the root of the behavior, how to meet the person's needs, and shift maladaptive habits.

Truth. Life’s complicated and we’re too hard on ourselves. My clients are typically women going through two key transitions in their life: emerging adulthood and adjusting to parenthood. My clients are often leaving home, graduating, establishing their careers, and starting a family. They are often really good at taking care of others and not as good at taking care of themselves. I specialize in working with anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, and boundary challenges. As well as concerns related to the adjustment to parenthood, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, birth trauma, infertility, and pregnancy loss.

I view psychotherapy as a collaborative deep dive into the meanings of one’s inner life. People often seek therapy because they feel caught in emotional patterns that are often a source of anxiety and suffering. I tend to really work well with clients who are curious about understanding themselves and others more deeply. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and introspective but feel stuck in patterns which are painful, overwhelming, or isolating.

I see therapy as an opportunity to work toward growth, self-discovery, and healing. I believe that people come to me not only with where they may be stuck or hurting, but also with incredible strengths and abilities. Through warmth, collaboration, and direct communication I hope to help uncover patterns that are getting in the way of living well. I use an experiential, emotion + body focused approach along with art therapy and practical tools to develop new ways of experiencing and approaching the hard stuff in life.

Helping individuals, couples, relationships, and families adjust to the changes that occur throughout the lifespan is why I became a therapist. I constantly strive to support my clients in overcoming mental health concerns that erode self-esteem, self-confidence, and a sense of self-worth. I pride myself on being open-minded and nonjudgmental about all the ways through which one can achieve a fulfilling life. As a couples, relationship, and family therapist, I am constantly looking to have my clients open new lines of communication and learn to relate to one another with more empathy.

I work with queer and non-monogamous individuals and couples, from teens to adults, who are looking for a therapy space where they can show up fully as themselves.
I bring an integrative approach that draws from Gestalt, Narrative and Somatic modalities, and I also appreciate the wisdom of Internal Family Systems as a way of understanding the many parts we all carry within us.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
