I consider myself a generalist clinician. I have experience addressing recovery/addiction, sexual problems, gender/identity, behavior problems, trauma, ADHD, interpersonal conflict, depression, anxiety, chronic stress, and more. My interest is to empower and support my clients - to work together and personalize their therapy to suit them individually. I work to provide a safe and productive space for clients to overcome adversity, and care deeply about understanding each person's diversity in identity and presence. I strive to remain open to and aware of my biases - including my privilege, identities, and beliefs.

If you're reading this you're struggling in some way and could benefit from real, concrete and evidence-based support. I'd be happy to help! I use a person-centered approach that leverages an individual's natural resilience. But you don't have to suffer alone - it's helpful to find a supportive relationship in which to sort out thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are overwhelming or no longer serve us. I've had the great honor of seeing clients heal from trauma, sexual abuse, relationship struggles and life uncertainty. Whether it's trouble sleeping, life overwhelm or general discontent, I'd love to help make meaningful change!

You’ve spent most of your life looking out for others—now it’s your turn. You pride yourself on being resourceful and independent, both professionally and personally, but lately, you’re feeling burnt out and overwhelmed. Maybe past experiences are resurfacing, making it even harder to move forward. More than anything, you just want to feel less stressed and more like yourself again.

Anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or compulsive behaviors can feel overwhelming—like they’ve taken over and won’t let go. Maybe you’ve tried to manage it on your own, or even received supportive care from a therapist, but nothing seems to stick. It’s frustrating and exhausting. What you really want is clarity, relief, and tools that actually work. A way to understand what’s happening in your mind and feel more in control. Therapy should be effective and tailored to you—with an expert provider who is warm, collaborative, and truly invested in your care.

The decision to pursue therapy is a courageous one, and finding the right therapist can feel daunting or exhausting - but it is possible. I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with 15+ years helping clients navigate significant life changes, improve well-being, & manage ongoing stress while still pursuing bold dreams & individual purpose. I love helping clients find their most fulfilling & integrated life possible, even if it means taking big risks & making hard changes. Creating long term growth & healing is not easy, but it also picks up momentum & joy once we identify and navigate around the main obstacles in your way.

Contrary to what movies show you about therapy, I won’t give you unwanted advice or simply nod solemnly the whole session. I bring curiosity, compassion, humor, free expression, and movement to join with my clients and help them explore what healing means to them. I hope to empower clients to access their natural abilities and to gently disrupt the unhealthy patterns we humans often get stuck in using more than traditional “talk therapy” approach. My goal is to facilitate somatic healing, so your whole body begins to feel better as you gain new awareness and get “unstuck” from the patterns you’re ready to release.

Do you spiral down rabbit holes of anxious thoughts? Do you feel like an impostor and fear everyone will discover who you “really” are? Do you beat yourself up for things you “should” have done differently? Life is hard and full of stressors. The way our minds are hardwired often results in painful emotions, such as anxiety, depression, anger, or guilt. Like quicksand, the more we fight these thoughts and emotions, the worse it gets. But there’s hope. We can change our relationship with painful thoughts and emotions so they don’t prevent us from living our lives to the fullest.

Because the world can often feel like a scary, unforgiving, and chaotic place, promoting a sense of safety and purpose is my top priority as a therapist. I view therapy as brainstorming sessions during which we engage in respectful curiosity about your life, affirm that you have worth just as you are (because you exist!), enhance your sense of safety with yourself, heal trauma and relational wounds, develop your strengths, and explore more sustainable and authentic ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving so that you can build the life you want.

Welcome to Creative Guidance, PLLC. I believe that our ability to stay in the moment, especially when things are difficult, can be tough. Wanting to escape the present moment is a normal human response. When we are able to remain present, that is where healing, wisdom and change truly lies. When we can stay with what we are feeling and experiencing, both good and challenging, we are then awake and empowered to change our lives. I am here to help you become present and unfold the YOU that has always been there from the start.

If you are an adult with ADHD, things like staying organized, sticking to a plan, finishing tasks, meeting deadlines, and remembering where you left your keys can feel difficult. The anxiety of falling short and feeling behind can eat away at your time and confidence, leading to frustration, discouragement, and overwhelm. But you’ve come this far, and in spite of the challenges (and sometimes loneliness) of having a brain that works differently, so much more is possible, at work, at home, and in your relationships.

Many of us have known heartache, loss, confusion, and persistent worry. It's my life's work to join people who have struggled with these experiences and help them find clarity, fulfillment, and joy. I'm excited to work with individuals as they dig deeper into understanding the "why" behind their choices and motivations, to feel alive and vibrant no matter what they face. Though I approach therapeutic work in an eclectic way, I primarily utilize evidence-based practices in conjunction with other modalities to create a tailored approach to each person.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
