I work with all adult individuals, relationships, and families, treating issues of relational distress, adjustment to life transitions, struggles with anxiety and depression, and identity development. At our core, every person has a place where they experience clarity, curiosity, confidence, and calm. And yet, life is difficult. Sometimes we need support to get us back into that place of confidence and clarity—or to find it for the first time. Our work together can serve as one of those support systems to help bring about the change you’re looking for.

I am known for my unapologetically fierce and compassionate anti-stigma approach and take pride in my east coast empathy, humor, and drive. I have been in Washington since 2019 and have worked on the front lines in mental health throughout the pandemic. I’m thrilled to incorporate my west coast love of the great outdoors, inclusivity, mindfulness, and culture into my practice for a well-rounded and empowering client experience. I deeply believe in the power of therapy, vulnerability, and validation. I provide safe space where you may speak your truth without fear, expect to be truly heard and seen, and know that you are valued.

I specialize in helping men and women overcome debilitating anxiety, depression, and developmental trauma. I also work with individuals struggling with infertility, feeling secure during pregnancy and postpartum, and working through the challenges that come up with parenting. I'm interested in coming to know you, your hopes and dreams, and the obstacles that keep getting in the way. I believe in the innate capacity to heal and the growth that comes from exploring what hurts in a caring relationship.

I work with individuals ages 18 and up, as well as couples and parents. I believe symptoms are a request from the psyche to grow -- whether this manifests as depression, anxiety, or just a feeling that you want more from your life or your relationships. Or you may be experiencing a transition, grief, or loss and need support to navigate this change. Therapy creates a space in which healing and growth can happen. I believe humans have a natural, inherent tendency toward health and self-actualization. We are hard-wired to live good and meaningful lives, but sometimes need support to do so.

Through a gentle invitation, I ask clients to observe their thoughts and emotions without judgment as they arise and pass, nestling into the session as a place of safety and becoming grounded by the observance of breath. This natural unfolding helps to create spaciousness so that we can begin to navigate through the less than comfortable places within ourselves, looking at them squarely and experiencing them as they are, without repression or indulgence.

I am a licensed psychologist with 20 years experience providing psychotherapy and consultation. My approach is gentle, respectful and compassionate, including challenge and encouragement as appropriate. I offer short-term and long-term psychotherapy, emphasizing the development of a warm, empathic therapeutic relationship. My treatment approach is integrative and most influenced by psychoanalytic, humanistic and developmental theories. Psychotherapy involves verbalizing your thoughts and feelings, exploring relational and behavioral patterns, and understanding how past experiences may impact you now. In addition, my area of expertise is in helping people cope with medical problems such as diabetes, cancer, and chronic pain. I also specialize in working with those dealing with end of life issues as well as grief/bereavement.

I solicit the therapeutic alliance as a foundational component to therapy by meeting clients where they are at any given moment. With experiences in attachment and trauma, my holistic and systemic lens allows me to take a deeper look into the root causes of past and current sources of distress, and collaboratively discover effective pathways towards treatment and healing.
