I practice from a relational, attachment-based lens and prioritize your holistic well-being.
Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. I enjoy working with individuals on mind/body integration, meaning that you know in your mind how you want to feel, but you don’t yet feel it in your body. We will work together to help you integrate by approaching your unique needs and goals through understanding your story, working with your strengths, and building your inner resources to tend to yourself when challenges arise. This may involve incorporating EMDR, mindfulness practices, visualizations, or inner parts awareness into sessions.

I am here for anyone who is struggling, looking for support, help, or personal exploration. My goal is to provide a safe space and an outside perspective with which to collaborate and problem solve. I identify as queer, and I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I work with people of all identities, genders, and relationship configurations. I recognize that each client is unique and therefore approach my work using a client-centered, strengths-based model to personalize treatment. I have the added benefit of having a sex therapy certified supervisor, which makes me a great fit for clients who wish to explore intimacy issues and sexual shame.

I work with anyone who is feeling stuck in their life- helping them be seen, heard, and understood, as we approach problems with curiosity and empathy. While we can't control what happens to us, we can control how we respond- and therapy is the best way to get all the tools you need to respond to life's ups and downs. If you're motivated and engaged in the process, therapy can give you the set of tools you need to improve (or completely change) your life. I support clients in their goals, applying psycho-education, in-depth therapeutic training, 10+ years of experience, and (always optional) out of session homework.

My approach is based on curiosity about (and deep compassion for) the ways individuals and couples make sense of themselves and their own stories. I am amazed by the power of relationship as a path to self-discovery and relief. My clinical focus is that of parents of teenagers (middle school-college age) who might need extra support or a fresh perspective in order to better navigate struggles that arise during adolescence -- the push-pull of independence-seeking and overwhelm.

Therapy is a vulnerable process, and my goal is to meet clients where they’re at and work with them in a warm, engaging, and direct manner. I work with clients collaboratively, seeing you as the expert of your own life and me as a third party to help see patterns, ask questions, and hold difficult things with you. My goal is to see holistic change for each client. I work from a systems perspective, meaning I incorporate the way your family, friends, community, work, etc. affect who you are. With this knowledge, we can build healthy frameworks and relationships.

Therapy is a commitment to journey into the self that is more circular than linear. The first rung is awareness. Before we examine ourselves and our lives we must become aware of our thoughts, beliefs, and actions. Otherwise, we live at a reactive and habitual level. The second rung is understanding these patterns woven through our lives; because it is always larger than the given moment. I call it our mental landscape. And, finally acceptance with clarity and truth. When we accept ourselves and our history with compassion we conscientiously make the changes in our lives that resonate at a deep and true-self level.

Are you struggling with communication and unable to resolve conflict in your relationship? Do you feel misunderstood, unappreciated, and dismissed? Going through interpersonal and relational conflict is a shared human experience and it occurs at all stages of life. And although common, feeling stuck in life and in our relationships can be excruciating, and it can be hard to believe things can change. Is that you? If so, I can help. As a neutral party and ally, I can help you explore and expand perspectives, to hear different sides, to learn skills for more productive conversations and to manage conflict more effectively.

I work with teens and adults who identify as quirky/nerdy, highly-intelligent, introverted, highly-sensitive, or as having ADHD or Autism (or some combination of these). Those with these traits often share something: a sense of outsider-ship, of not quite belonging. This can lead to loneliness, shame, isolation, depressions, self-loathing--all that fun stuff.  I, myself, have 3 or 4 of the above traits, AND was homeschooled on top of it, so my own sense of outsider-ship was crowned with awkward homeschooler social skills :) Working, both on self-acceptance, and feeling like I belong, is something I enjoy sharing with my clients.

My therapeutic approach is applied through an anti-oppressive and culturally responsive lens, and my primary modalities include attachment-based therapy, depth psychotherapy, somatic-based therapies, internal family systems, and nature therapy.
If you're considering therapy, you're already taking a brave step toward growth and self-discovery. Some areas of focus in my practice include gender identity exploration, adults with ADHD, processing childhood trauma, healing attachment wounds, and improving relationships. My lived and professional experiences have equipped me to connect with those who share these identities.

I believe that all mental anguish begins with loneliness and disconnection. This is why my approach to psychotherapy is grounded fundamentally in the relationship that we build together. Together we will move through suffering, creatively identifying new possibilities and ways of experiencing life. We will find hope and build your capacity to love both yourself and others more fully. From within this relationship, you will be able to safely try new things, to see what works for you, to ultimately move forward in your life with more ease. I like the expression "human flourishing" to describe this process.

My lens is attachment-based and supporting the whole person.
Welcome, I am so glad you are here and exploring support for living as your highest self. Through all of the challenges you've been through, and through the ones you are navigating now, I welcome you as you are. When you begin to accept and welcome yourself just as you are, you can begin to shift the way you experience yourself and the world: one that is aligned with your core self. I offer a safe place for you to process challenges, examine thinking and behavior patterns, and radically embrace all parts of yourself. My current practice focuses on youth, teenagers, and young adults ages 12-25.

I enjoy supporting those in their journey of healing, reflection, and growth throughout life. I work with those who have a desire to move towards a place of thriving, while addressing topics that may have you feeling stuck or alone. Perhaps you are someone who never feels like you are good enough, has difficulty setting boundaries, is experiencing burnout, anxiety, or frustration. There might be dynamics from childhood that you’re curious about and how they may be impacting you today. In safely exploring some of these areas, together we can work in moving you towards a more fulfilled life.

My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based , relational, sex and body-positive, and affirming of queer, poly, and kink identities.
The past is just a story we tell ourselves. Through early formative experiences, we mold core beliefs about belonging, worth, and lovability. Therapy is a place to untangle the narratives we have internalized (perhaps unconsciously) and impact our ability to show up in the world authentically and connect with others deeply. Understanding our past can help us bring compassion and awareness to the present moment. Let us bravely explore the complexity and messiness of the human experience - embracing all that you are. I know your journey to get here hasn't always been easy, but there's still more story to write. And you are the author.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
