Moms, you're touched-out, talked-out, and somehow still invisible in your own home. You've built a good life—partner, family, maybe career. But somewhere along the way, you disappeared into managing it. You show up for everyone, meet every need, optimize every system. Yet you feel unseen, untouched, like there's no you in your own marriage anymore. This is the work: finding your voice again, understanding what kept you small, and learning to love your people and yourself. This is the new foundation.

Healing can be a beautiful process, both physically and mentally. It can bring relief from pain, restore functionality, and promote a sense of well-being. It can also offer an opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery. I specialize in a holistic approach to anxiety, trauma, and behavior modification through mind and body. The philosophy of trauma-informed counseling is based on the understanding that individuals who have experienced trauma require specialized care and support. I acknowledge the impact of trauma on my clients' lives and work collaboratively with them to identify and address their individual needs and goals.

If you're feeling anxious, stuck in your head, or constantly second-guessing yourself—you're not alone. Maybe you're struggling in your relationships, feeling disconnected from your body, or battling a harsh inner critic that just won’t quiet down. You might look like you’re doing fine on the outside, but inside, it’s exhausting.

Relationships can be hard, especially the parenting one. My style of therapy is based on the latest research in how the brain (neuroscience geek!), body, and emotions work together. For 20 years, I've partnered with individuals and couples, facilitating thriving relationships: parent-child, partners, and co-parenting couples. The most important relationship is the one we have with ourselves. I can help you explore relational wounds and teach you new skills to experience more satisfying relationships. Let's talk and see if we're a good fit.

You've built a life you're proud of. It just doesn't feel the way you expected. Behind the scenes, you're exhausted and you feel disconnected from yourself. It can be hard to slow down, feel present, or enjoy the life you've worked so hard to build. I work with adults and couples navigating burnout, anxiety, relationship challenges, parenting, and life transitions. Many of my clients are balancing demanding careers with meaningful relationships and want more in life than to feel like they are simply getting through the day.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
