It’s a pleasure to meet you. I am a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State with over 25 years of experience in the behavioral health field. Change is difficult, change is scary, change is not undertaken lightly, but change is necessary, and it can be achieved. Therapy and counseling are an individualized process, and it is my responsibility to create an individualized approach that values the uniqueness of who you are. Working together we will create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for you to talk about that change and what that looks like for you.

I work from a psychoanalytic/psychodynamic approach, which seeks to understand symptoms rather than just manage them, views most human experiences as containing conflicting thoughts and feelings, and believes that self-honesty is fundamental to growth and healing. In practice, patients generally choose where to begin a session and move freely from there. Reflecting on our therapeutic relationship and your experiences of me and of the therapy is also a core aspect of the work; therapy is a safe practice space to explore and experiment with our patterns of relating to another person.

We're living through a difficult time period, which can compound upon pre-existing traumas, anxieties, stressors, and relational difficulties. I would love to join you alongside your journey to stability, improved quality of life/relationships, and mental health. I will explore with you your past and current experiences and feelings to get to the root of what is causing struggle and assist in locating a path of healing and relief. If you need to be witnessed in the experiences you've had, explore deeply the emotional impacts they have had on you, and examine with intention the direction you'd like to head, reach out.
