Relationships are hard work. Navigating what you want from life while considering what your partner/partners may wish to do can be daunting. Having questions about your relationship? How about your sex life? Has the excitement of your relationship and sex life turned into a mundane list of chores to cross off? Wait ... what about passion!? Or Intimacy!? Or heaven forbid you might ask, "What if I want to try that new thing ...?" You are far from being alone with these thoughts. Most people ask these questions when they are in a relationship with others. That's why I am here: to help answer these questions in a supportive space.

Life has a way of knocking us off balance when we least expect it. Just when you think you’re on solid ground, everything can suddenly shift, leaving you feeling disoriented and overwhelmed. Soon, fear, anxiety, and despair take hold and throw you deeper into the shadows. Given the challenges at hand, old coping mechanisms fall short, and what once felt like strengths now seem inadequate. You feel trapped, as if you are at the mercy of external forces you have little control over. Sometimes, you wonder if you’re destined to struggle this way forever.

I provide couple's therapy & therapy for individuals. Whether I'm working with you individually or as part of a unit, I'm always curious about how other people or systems impact you. I interweave aspects of Emotion-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. When working with couples, I primarily use the Gottman Method. I see people as a part of an intricately woven tapestry of relationships. Like a thread in the tapestry, a person cannot be excluded from relationships to function on their own.

I combine compassionate and deeply-effective approaches such as Internal Family Systems, gestalt, and mindfulness-based.
Is a greater sense of calm, confidence, and emotional balance possible in life? Is there healing beyond temporarily relieving symptoms that happens at a deeper level? What can we do to wake up in the morning and feel “ok”? I am a mother, wife, immigrant, and art enthusiast who has been seeking answers to these questions for the past 17 years through studying, creating, and working with my mentors and therapists. My practice is dedicated completely to you and your unique journey. No matter where you are in life or what difficult experiences you are currently navigating, I will listen to you in calm. I want clients to feel like they are in the driver's seat of their lives by facilitating clarity amidst the chaos of distractions that impede engagement in their present experience. I believe the fundamental vehicle of change is the relationship between the counselor and the client. For me, therapy is a collaborative approach in which the therapist helps clients confront issues in the here and now by exploring their narratives and relationships through different dynamics and perspectives.

I primarily support adults who have experienced trauma, are Neurodivergent, or sometimes, both. Many are feeling stuck in patterns of overwhelm, self-doubt, or burnout. You may be navigating the impact of trauma, emotionally painful relationships, religious trauma, or early experiences that shaped how safe it feels to be yourself. Perhaps you are Autistic or ADHD - or exploring your Neurodivergent identity later in life - and you have learned to mask, over-function, or disconnect to get by. Therapy becomes a space to understand these patterns, reconnect with yourself, and move toward a way of living that feels more sustainable.

Struggling to feel confident in who you are — especially in groups? Do you want to be a leader, speak up, or just feel seen—but worry others won’t understand your lived experience, your identity, or even your reality? You know your values. You know your truth. But voicing them feels risky. Maybe you've even thought, "My brown ass/gay ass can't say that out loud." And yet, deep down, you know business as usual just isn’t cutting it anymore. You’re ready for CHANGE.

If you're reading this, you or someone you love are in some level of distress. I'm glad you're here. Keep reading. People generally do the best they can with what they know. Sometimes in life, we need additional support in order to work on areas that are beyond us- either because we've experienced trauma, tried everything we know, or we're too entangled. Sadly, many people wait so long to seek help that things are extremely overwhelming by the time they call. The good news is, you're here now and things can get better. I offer a free initial consultation, so please feel free to call and speak with me.

I draw from Gestalt therapy, Somatic approaches, Emotion-focused Therapy and Traditional Islamically Integrated Psychotherapy to support our work together.
Do you feel overwhelmed by your emotions, stuck in familiar patterns, or disconnected from yourself and your relationships? You may be carrying the weight of past experiences and wanting to respond to life from a calmer, more grounded place. Perhaps you’re Muslim and have heard others say that their faith carries them through difficult times, yet you find yourself wishing you could feel that same sense of ease or steadiness. Maybe you're a first- or second-generation immigrant navigating grief, transitions, or losses that were never fully acknowledged, and longing for a space where you feel seen and understood.

What is gestalt therapy?
Gestalt therapy is based on the idea that to address unresolved negative feelings, emotions must be not only discussed but also actively expressed in the present moment. The term is from a German word meaning “whole,” and gestalt therapists believe that people should be considered whole entities made up of mind, body, and emotions. Gestalt sessions are rooted in the notion that a client’s total self must be discovered, explored, and confronted, so that they can take greater responsibility for themselves and their behavior, learn to satisfy their own needs while still respecting the needs of others, and reconnect with feelings they might otherwise deny.

How does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy sessions do not just involve talking with a therapist. Clients may take part in role-playing, re-enactment, or artistic exercises like drawing and painting, with the goal of becoming more aware of negative thought patterns that limit happiness. One common gestalt exercise is “the empty chair,” in which a client sits across from an empty chair representing a partner, relative, boss, or a part of themselves—and, with the therapist’s encouragement, improvises a dialog with it. The intention is to bring the emotions raised by past conflicts into the present and work through them in the moment.

How long does gestalt therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for gestalt therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. New patients should understand that it may take some time to become comfortable with gestalt exercises but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically spanning at least 12 sessions.

Does gestalt therapy work?
Gestalt therapy has generally been found to be as effective as other forms of talk therapy in helping people living with anxiety, depression, phobias, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders, as well as helping individuals reduce conflict in relationships. Gestalt techniques, on their own or in combination with other therapies, can also be effective in managing physical ailments including ulcerative colitis, migraines, and back spasms. It should be noted that some people may have trouble adapting to gestalt therapy’s lack of formal structure or to a therapist’s close observations of their body language and emotions; others may struggle to commit to techniques that feel unnatural, like the empty chair exercise.
