Kevin is an associate working toward full licensure under a clinical supervisor. You've been dealing with this thing forever"“depression, anxiety, or maybe just that familiar relationship issue that keeps popping up. That thing that makes you question your relationship or inevitably leads to its dissolution. You don't need somebody to tell you what it is, you've lived with it for this long and you're fairly clear on that point. But why? Why is it there? What is motivating it? Why does this keep happening? What are the unseen forces that you feel, but can't seem to name?.

Life is hard! Whether it be due to depression, anxiety, school, work, life transitions, grief, break-ups, and a host of other issues, there’s no way of denying this universal reality. And while our challenges may currently put a cloud over everything we do, I believe that these obstacles do not need to define us, and that there is a path forward towards greater health and wholeness. To get to this desired destination, I create a safe space where I partner with my clients to identify and address the difficulties that they face and collaboratively create goals and outcomes that they would like to see in their lives.

You don't need somebody to tell you "what" it is, you've lived with it for this long and you're fairly clear on that point. But "why"? Why is it there? What is motivating it? Why does "this" keep happening? What are the unseen forces that you feel, but can't seem to name? Until we know why, we can never get down to the root of the problem–we will only be dealing with the symptoms and not the cause.

If you’re struggling with obsessive thoughts, constant worry, or overwhelming anxiety, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I’ve spent over a decade specializing in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders, helping hundreds break free from the anxious cycles that keep them stuck. I use only gold-standard, evidence-based treatments like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Exposure Therapy, both specialized forms of CBT proven to be the most effective approaches for OCD and anxiety. These therapies are structured, goal-oriented, and designed to give you a clear path toward recovery. This is different than just talk therapy.

If you’re ready to take the first step, I will support you in gently exploring what’s causing these blockages and preventing you from thriving. To achieve this and other positive outcomes, I tap into my extensive training as a somatic therapist, as well as my own experiences of "doing the work". Therapy is a big step so I want you to feel comfortable in the decision of whether we're a good fit for what you're needing. Therapy is a unique space to heal painful wounds, interact with unhealthy patterns of relationships in an effort to create more fulfilling ones, improve communication, and open yourself to new and better experiences and relationships. I currently work with adult individuals and couples around attachment issues, intimacy struggles, identity development, sexual trauma/shame, grief, and more. I have extensive experience working with men’s issues, executives, LGBTQ+, and entrepreneurs.

Male Therapists

As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?

There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?

Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?

Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?

Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
