If you’re tired of recycling the same argument, walking on eggshells with each other or don’t know how to repair your relationship, I can help you get to the root of your disconnection. I help distressed, disconnected couples remember what it's like to be sexy best friends instead of roommates. Together, we will identify your entrenched ways of arguing so that both of you can break these patterns by learning how to clearly state how you’re feeling to your partner and in turn, listen deeply. I'll help you pay close attention to each other, so that you both feel a little more held each time we meet.

Someone once asked me, "What are the three key traits of an effective therapist?" "Empathy, empathy, and empathy," was my reply, emphasizing the importance of understanding another's perspective. Having experienced similar challenges, I can relate to what you might be going through. This emotional bond, paired with my academic expertise, is what makes me an effective therapist. Just to be clear, anything we discuss stays between us. Building trust and comfort, over time, is what makes the therapeutic relationship work. One of my aims is to create an atmosphere where you can feel safe to share. I will not judge you.

My specialty is working with anger, anxiety, emotional regulation, and relational conflict using a wide variety of tools.
My clients are self-aware but feel stuck. They may struggle with anxiety, relationship stress, low self-esteem, or pressure from work, school, or family. They want real change, not quick fixes. They are looking for a space that feels safe while also encouraging growth. Their goals drive them to understand their habits, manage their emotions more effectively, communicate clearly, and build healthier relationships. They are seeking the comfort of a confidant; someone who will help carry that weight, and maybe have a few laughs along the way. Ultimately, they are ready to break old cycles and create something different.

People I work with often navigate: persistent self-criticism or shame, histories of trauma, difficulty managing anger or emotional intensity, grief, or life transitions that feel disorienting.
I specialize in trauma-informed care that honors the complexity of your lived experience. My approach is relational, culturally responsive, and grounded in awareness of the nervous system. I use an integrative approach because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, drawing on interventions such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and a strengths-based approach.

We often cope with the aftermath of trauma by developing a workable persona or "protector," fervently committed to keeping us safe by avoiding further emotional injury at any cost. As adults, day-to-day challenges trigger our protective parts with anxiety-provoking situations that elicit reactive, shielding responses, and keep us stuck looping in repetitive cycles. While these protective defenses with their "never again" mantra had reliably sheltered our vulnerability in the past, today they function as painful reminders of lingering wounds and barriers to joyful, meaningful connection with others.

I work with those who: struggle to manage anger, those who are struggling to create and maintain emotional and relational intimacy, those struggling in being a new parent, childhood trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I seek to create a warm, down-to-earth, and accepting experience for you to explore the unspeakable things you have experienced. Many of us, myself included, were rarely taught how to connect with and understand our emotions. So when we experience difficult feelings like sadness, disappointment, anxiety, shame, fear, grief, and pain. We often do what we know most, to cope and suffer in isolation and silence. It doesn't have to be that way. We will work together to nurture, heal and care for the parts of yourself that often you have had no idea what to do with. The wounds you have carried with you all your life can be healed!

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
