I primarily utilize Lifespan Integration (LI), a gentle yet powerful somatic modality.
Are you struggling to navigate through grief or a significant life transition? Feeling Stuck? You may be doing your best to hold it together but feel unsure about how to move forward. Some days you may feel like you'll be OK, while other days bring feelings of depression or overwhelming anxiety. If this speaks to you, there is hope and you are not alone. A primary goal of our work together will be restoration—restoring hope and reconnecting you with your heart. I am here to help you move through your pain rather than be weighed down by it, empowering you to thrive, not just survive.

While I tailor sessions to your specific needs, I typically incorporate techniques focused on attachment, fostering emotion regulation skills, somatic grounding practices, and uncovering patterns of communication that may be keeping you feeling stuck.
I specialize in providing support for anxiety, complex trauma, and their intersection with neurodivergence, deeply valuing the opportunity to help clients build resilience and connection in a world that often overlooks their strengths. With advanced training in medical family therapy, I also appreciate the opportunity to work alongside individuals and families adjusting to living with chronic and acute illness, often working with caregiver burnout, the complexities of cancer care, and hospice/grief support.

Areas supported include: Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Traumatic Grief/Loss, Life Transitions, Body/ Somatic Concerns, Spiritual Experiences, Perinatal and Postpartum, ADHD.
As a relationship-based, trauma-informed therapist, I work with individuals who have been broken open to the world through painful experiences of grief and loss: loss of love, of meaning or purpose, of knowing their ‘who’ or ‘where,’ of vitality and health, of core relationships and stories, or of life dreams, unimagined. My therapeutic style is warm, sensitive, and intuitive, supporting clients where they are at while also creating a safe place where courageous conversations can unfold. I believe that there is hope and peace even in the darkest of places, and I am here to help you discover what’s possible and to feel better.

I work with adults, drawing from attachment-focused, somatic, and parts-work approaches to support you in moving toward your goals.
Each of us carries a story. It lives beneath the surface - in how we move through each day, in the words we offer and the ones we withhold. In the ways we reach for connection, and the ways we protect ourselves. In the quiet ache for what was needed, but never received. In therapy, we begin to trace your story. We look with care at where you’ve been, at what life has asked of you, what you had to learn to survive.

Each person who comes to therapy is unique with individualized needs to be honored. Maybe, a person needs to identify and develop skills to navigate new challenges. It could be that they need a place to process in a different way something heavy they have carried inside for any amount of time. Other times, a person may be seeking someone help them hold and decrease the weight of an issue who will not only be non-judgmental, but also be unbiased and not control the changes sought. Whatever stressors and goals are bringing you to initiate this process, you are taking steps forward to bring you into your improved self.

My therapy work is rooted in a systemic approach with children, adolescents, couples, and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting challenges, grief, etc... . Through my own identities and experiences as a 1.5 generation immigrant from the Philippines, being raised in Los Angeles, and as an educator for over 20 years, I understand the impact of harm and losses that carry from generation to generation caused by systems that are not made for us. They surface in our lives and within our relationships.

Do you struggle with an inner voice that tells you that you are failing or not enough? Is it difficult to identify what you want? Do you consistently prioritize others over yourself? We live in a world that bombards us with messages about who has value and who does not. We are told “just try harder” and things will change. My clients come to therapy because despite a commitment to this hustle for worth, they remain dissatisfied. They feel stuck and resonate with the idea of putting their life on hold until they lose the weight, get the promotion, etc. Many say they are ready for something different but aren't sure where to start.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
