My client profile consists of 1/3 children/adolescents, 1/3 trauma focused therapy due to sexual assault and/or sexual addiction impact, and 1/3 females over 40 who would like to explore making changes in life . I enjoy the diversity of my practice as all the above mentioned areas enable me to work with both childhood disorders and relational challenges into adulthood. My focus on sexual addiction/trauma and family of origin issues is to provide supportive and therapeutic space for partners and children/teens who have been impacted by someone who has either a confirmed or suspected sexual addiction.

My approach to Mental Health Counseling is to view the client as expert in their own life . I do not play the role of expert in my client's lives. I do, however act as a guide, advocate, educator, and support person. What I will do is attempt to see your issues from your perspective and your view of the world. I work within the framework of Person-Centered Therapy, which focuses on the client being the expert, Existential Therapy, which focuses on behavior and looks at how the client thinks, feels, and behaves and the impact they have on others.

My purpose is to provide client-centered care. My philosophy when working with clients are strength-based approaches with an intention of active, reflective listening while empowering my clients to enhance their well-being. I used a combination of techniques including cognitive behavioral, dialectic behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, ACT and etc. I help people identify thought patterns, behaviors and reactions to emotions that interfere with their lives.
