As a relationship and sex therapist, I am here to help you and your partner find your voice in this confusing world.
You are seeking a stronger bond with your loved ones or you just want to obtain what is right for you. It is hard to face these struggles on your own. You tried to communicate with your loved ones but no matter how many times you tried to explain your perspective, you were met with anger and confusion. You also find yourself feeling the same emotions when you hear your partner share their narrative. It feels upsetting to have the same cycle repeat over and over again. You are at a point where you and your partner want to disrupt the cycle and try to become one again where you both feel seen and heard by the other.

He believes in treating clients holistically (mind, body, and spirit) and that the work clients do outside of therapy is as important as the work they do in session. The priorities are helping clients develop skills and providing resources that will support them to make lasting change.

Since 1998, I have been working with individuals, couples , and families and treating issues related to: depression, anxiety, communication problems, interpersonal conflict, trauma recovery, military deployment, abortion recovery, adult children of divorced parents, pre-marital counseling, multi-cultural marriage and many other identity/spiritual crises. I see clients on the brink of divorce rediscover their passion for each other, clients merely surviving with depression/anxiety start truly living again, and clients going through the motions find purpose, meaning and fulfillment in their relationships, in their careers and in their lives. Often 10-14 sessions can lead to significant and lasting change.

I use cognitive behavioral techniques: examining thought and relationship patterns.
Counseling is a journey and our first step is to define where you want to go. I see myself walking besides you in this journey and guiding you towards your chosen destination. Counseling consists of defining problems, understanding relevant history, and designing interventions to alter behaviors, feelings, attitudes, and thought patterns. My intention is to listen, validate, and empower your abilities. I hold compassion to those that want to process their thoughts and feelings.

I offer individual therapy for pre-teens, teens, adults, and seniors, as well as couples and marital counseling.
It is my therapeutic belief that for change to occur, one must learn to be themselves fully. This belief has allowed me success in assisting clients who suffer from anxiety, mild to severe depression, trauma, couple/family conflicts, and challenging life transitions. I have been especially successful with those that have had prior negative therapy experiences as my therapy is highly collaborative and strives to empower the client’s voice and goals.

If you would like to explore your relationship with yourself and others from this perspective, I would love to work with you.
This is a tele-health practice. Everyone deserves a safe space to explore their human experience and to make peace with themselves and their situation. Life will send curve balls. We get out of balance and move through life disconnected and unhappy, consumed by constant worry. We judge ourselves harshly and become filled with self-loathing. We can get stuck or frozen in trying to figure out what to do next. Therapy is a place to clarify your values and move towards a more congruent life. I can help you find your path, accept yourself, and build healthy relationships. You will receive evidence-based tools to build your skill set.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
