You need to feel like you can be fully yourself. To be able to set boundaries, thrive, and be healthy in your relationships. Therapy is for someone like you - a regular person, struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD , bipolar disorder... who sometimes doesn’t like how you feel about yourself or your relationships. Given the social pressures and systemic influences in your life, these feelings become more complex and painful with time. You don’t need someone to solve everything, fix you, or expect you to be happy, but you long to be authentic and vulnerable with yourself and for others to feel they can be the same with you.

I am a certified trauma therapist, and use neurobiological based approaches, paired with mindfulness and cognitive strategies to help support and empower you towards change.
It takes a lot of courage to reach out when we're struggling. Life gets hard, relationships are complicated, work is demanding, and sometimes it's hard to know which way is up. Things like anxiousness, feelings of sadness, or experiences of trauma can complicate all this. It's difficult to feel on the cusp of needing to do something, wanting something different, and feeling stuck. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that aren't serving you anymore, whether it's eating, codependency, or substances. Let's talk about how to make meaningful change, and connection to yourself, your needs and values.

I specialize in treating trauma using EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) therapy but also use a variety of other treatment methods that I integrate to ensure you get the best possible care.
I am currently accepting new clients! When we accept ourselves we can more fully connect with others and enjoy being present in our daily lives. Would you like to treat yourself with loving kindness? To respond thoughtfully to others instead of reacting based on past experiences? I enjoy working with adult abuse survivors to develop self-compassion and explore issues related to childhood and relational trauma . If you would like to learn to nurture and care for yourself, to find acceptance and peace I can help!

Grief, anxiety, trauma , and depression are a few of many maladaptive responses to life stresses I have worked with.
Our innate human desire and need for love and connection is undeniable. In my work with families, individuals and partners, I encourage my clients to uncover and share feelings that often lie underneath dysfunctional patterns and interactions. This systemic perspective also values reflection on the impact from our families of origin. I also aim to nurture a strong sense of identity and self worth, believing this is imperative in finding balance in our unpredictable, confusing world.

We all have stories. Some exciting; worthy of celebration, while others leave us feeling stuck, lost or overwhelmed. Do you find yourself feeling anxious or struggling with depression? Perhaps you want to work through past wounds that linger so that you can thrive. If this is you, I invite you to meet with me as we work through the sacredness of your story. Together we can work through what was in earlier chapters and work towards what can be.

I have experience working with those in the queer community, those who are neurodivergent, those with chronic illness, and those who are starting to unpack childhood trauma .
“There is no standard normal. Normal is subjective. There are seven billion versions of normal on this planet.” - Matt Haig. So very often, we find ourselves facing the word "should". Who I "should" be, where in life I "should" be, what I "should" be able to do. Whether you are just learning who you are for the first time, or are in a place of transition in your life, the process can be very difficult and can often leave us feeling isolated, alone, misunderstood, and in the need of support.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
