I work with individual adults, older children, teens, and families, prioritizing connection over compliance. If you or a family member are struggling, sad, anxious, feel burned out, or sometimes feel too much or not enough, I am here to support you. I approach behavior as communication, always seeking to understand underlying needs. I ground my practice in being culturally and LGBTQ+ celebrating, neurodivergent affirming, anti-ableist, and anti-racist. I specialize in neurodivergence (ADHD and Autism), depression, anxiety, twice-exceptional (2e), healthcare provider burnout, complex trauma, parenting and family support.

I provide telehealth sessions (no in-person), to fit better into your busy life.
I specialize in using attachment-focused EMDR and cognitive behavior therapy to treat PTSD, grief/loss, anxiety, recovery from abusive relationships, and developmental trauma. I take a feminist perspective on illness and health/healing. This view acknowledges the role of systemic oppression and the impact of marginalization on your overall well-being.

I offer flexible scheduling, with daytime, evening, and weekend appointments in person or virtual.
I offer therapeutic sessions for individuals, couples, youth, and families. I help facilitate a process where people can develop insight and understanding of what may be holding them back from wellness, joy, and personal growth. Sometimes this may involve family patterns, behaviors that are not in line with one's values, or relationships that are no longer serving you. My job is to create safety for people to share their authentic selves, honoring strengths and navigating challenges together. My intention is to honor your gifts and to expand new ways of thinking or approaching situations to better meet your goals.

I acknowledge the larger systems of oppression that disproportionately affect minoritized folks such as people of color, LGBTQ+ people, polyamorous relationships, non-traditional family structures, and anyone else whose existence threatens the capitalist patriarchy in which we exist. My dream is to create a space in therapy where people can bring their whole, authentic selves. Together, we can explore narratives of self, family, and the world that impact your health. My philosophy is that healing cannot happen in isolation, and so I work systemically with families to promote wellness.

In the journey of life, challenges and obstacles will arise which can leave one feeling unbalanced and emotionally depleted. These feelings can make you feel like your self-esteem has taken a hit and leave you feeling unworthy of love and belonging. I feel everyone has the potential to find balance and healing in rewriting their own future story. My goal in working with you would be to provide a safe place to explore and effectively express emotions, set goals to increase quality of life and improve communication skills while rebuilding your self-worth and self-esteem.

I offer flexible scheduling for in-person & virtual sessions.
Every person has a story to tell and deserves a place to express their experiences and feelings related to their journey through life. Our stories often carry great joy and happiness along with great loss, pain, and trauma. These complex experiences create energy that can negatively impact your internal narrative and relationships with others. This can be difficult to understand alone. Finding alliance and empathy through the therapeutic process can give that energy a place to be acknowledged, processed, and seen, ultimately by gaining insight for lasting self compassion.

I believe in the importance of a safe, nonjudgmental space where people can explore, heal, and grow at their own pace. Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming whether it’s stress, emotional struggles, or navigating cultural shifts. Many feel disconnected, seeking relief and a path toward healing. I welcome anyone facing life’s challenges, building resilience, or hoping to find clarity and direction. Whether you’re overwhelmed, stuck, or simply needing support, you don’t have to go through it alone.

Online Therapists

Is online therapy as effective as in-person?

Numerous studies suggest that online therapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. However, further research is needed to determine if online therapy provides the same benefits across all client populations. Individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or those who may benefit from in-person check-ins, like those with eating disorders, may not experience the same level of benefit from online therapy. Nonetheless, the success of online therapy, much like in-person therapy, often hinges on the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client rather than the specific modality of therapy used.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of therapy conducted online?

One of the main advantages of online therapy is its convenience for both clients and therapists. It also allows clients who require specialized therapy to access a wider range of professionals than they could with only in-person sessions. Additionally, online therapy may be a more affordable option in some cases and often offers the same insurance benefits as in-person therapy. However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who value face-to-face interaction with a therapist. Therapists may find it more challenging to assess clients accurately in an online setting due to reduced nonverbal cues on camera. There is also the increased risk that disruptions caused by external factors, such as technology malfunctions, can hinder the therapy session. For these reasons, many therapists offer a "hybrid" therapeutic approach, alternating between seeing clients in-person and online.

Is online therapy suitable for children and adolescents?

Just like with adults, the accessibility and convenience of online therapy can greatly benefit children and adolescents. In fact, children and adolescents may be more accustomed to navigating online platforms than older adults, making online sessions feel more natural for them. Teens might also be interested in using additional online tools, such as therapist-recommended apps, as an adjunct to online therapy sessions. Apps for developing CBT skills, practicing mindfulness exercises, or tracking thoughts and moods can be helpful for teens receiving therapy. However, it's important to note that not all therapeutic modalities are well-suited to online therapy, especially those used with younger children. For example, play therapy, which helps younger children express their emotions, often requires in-person sessions to be fully effective.

Can I receive prescriptions and medication management with online therapy?

The ability for psychiatrists to prescribe medications through online therapy varies based on the medication and the states where the medical professional and client are located. While many prescribing regulations were relaxed during the COVID-19 pandemic, some states still enforce rules, especially concerning controlled substances, which may mandate an in-person visit before prescribing. Generally, however, medical professionals can prescribe non-controlled substances through online therapy sessions just as they do during in-person sessions.
