You can heal by recognizing how important your thoughts and feelings are in navigating this world. We often use our minds to solve everything and sometimes we "solve" ourselves into trouble. We become fragmented when we problem solve without taking the time to tend to our whole self. Use all of you to integrate what has been fragmented by trauma, be it divorce, depression, anxiety, family issues, grief, etc. Access your thoughts, feelings, and spirituality to help you become more authentically yourself, allowing you to use your strengths and create more peace in your life .

We all face difficult times in life and sometimes cannot even pinpoint the source of the pain. Therapy is an incredible way to face what hurts but also an amazing opportunity to grow into our best selves. I work with adolescents and adults who are struggling with anxiety/depression, past-trauma, divorce/separation, toxic relationships and negative seIf-talk/faulty thinking. You may not feel like yourself lately, or are struggling to even know who you are or what you want out of life . Allow me to listen, walk beside you, and help you set and achieve your personal goals. Note: I am a telehealth only therapist with Northwest Counsel.

I am experienced working with children, adults, couples, and families. Many times, people who call me are in distress, having tried what feels like everything, and they often feel frustrated and overwhelmed by their situation. My goal is to help individuals identify patterns of dysfunction that create problems for them. I work within the framework of an individual’s gifts and challenges to develop a strong relationship that allows for open communication and honesty. My strengths-based approach allows individuals to feel they have a voice and builds upon the good that is already taking place within their life and relationships.

I provide counseling based on each client's individuals needs and strengths. Cognitive-Behavioral: Thoughts, feelings and behaviors interact; to change one of these it is often helpful to change one of both of the others. Family Systems Theory: Family members affect each other; to address the needs of one family member, it is often helpful to change interactions within the entire family. Solution focused Therapy: A focus on the solution to, rather than history of, the problem. Narrative Therapy: interactions, concepts, and personal power as tools to improve a person's way of life , rather than focusing on any person.

Every person has a unique story and life circumstances that brought them to the exact place they are at today.
The world we live in is an ever changing and fast paced place that can often times add complexities to our lives, our relationships, our internal thoughts and emotions that we didn’t anticipate or were not ready for. In these times it can be helpful to seek therapy to have someone support your growth into the person you want to be in a respectful, empathetic, and judgment-free environment.

As we venture through life , sometimes we find that the expectations we set for ourselves, our partners, and the future are constantly changing. My hope is to ease you through life ’s transitions while enriching the relationships you have. I believe therapy should be a safe, non-judgmental, and nurturing place to put down the weights and ease into meaningful conversations. I enjoy working together with clients to identify their strengths, explore ways to reconnect with themselves and others to move forward in ways that feel genuine.

Talk therapy is great, but what many of the people I work with have missed in past therapy experiences is how to implement what they have learned about themselves into their real life . Self-regulation is key and after establishing a solid foundation using skills training for increasing distress tolerance and emotion regulation, I work with people to get at the root of the problems they are experiencing by using EMDR therapy and other interventions that address the core stuff, which is often the stuff that has kept us stuck in patterns that hurt. From there, we can work on improving your relationships and personal development.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
