Is your child or teen struggling with depression, anxiety, or panic attacks? Have they experienced a traumatic event and are now having a hard time sleeping, connecting with others, or just simply relaxing? Do they seem to be isolating and withdrawing from activities they used to enjoy? Perhaps they seem agitated and unable to share how they are feeling. Maybe they are worried about school and the social aspect of being with other students, having been isolated for so long due to COVID restrictions, and have multiple physical complaints to avoid going back to school.

Each of us has a wealth of wisdom within us, but circumstances sometimes prevent us from accessing our own innate wisdom. Therapy is a process of discovery and a way to receive assistance in accessing your own deep wisdom. My role as your therapist is to walk beside you on this journey and to help you make the most of your unique inner wisdom through talking, reflecting, learning, and discovering your own inner strength, resiliency, and ability to navigate life's challenges successfully.

What keeps you awake at night, or awakens you suddenly at three AM? Or you have that dreaded feeling of having to wake up and face the worry, or situation again with no resolution. It's not pleasant experiencing these feelings alone, feeling you have no one who can really understand, or partner with you to find some clarity, or answers.
If this feels familiar, I hope you will consider contacting me. I'd be honored to partner with you, to see if together we can find your joy, clarity and the confidence to be all that you are meant to be.

Life can throw numerous curve balls, and sometimes we need to expand our support system to persevere and carry on. Reaching out to meet with a counselor is not a sign of weakness, but rather shows bravery and a willingness for growth and change. When an individual makes the decision to enter counseling, it can be an intimidating choice during an already difficult time. It’s not always easy to be open and vulnerable with a counselor. I recognize the courage it takes and approach the therapist-client relationship as a collaborative experience throughout the process. We will work together as a team.

We all experience hurt, worry, and stressful experiences along our life journey. When you are most exhausted and vulnerable, therapy can provide hope and direction towards healing. Sometimes going at it alone isn’t enough, and we need someone to walk alongside us as we work through life. My aim in therapy is to help you with life's complexities by strengthening your hope and purpose and finding a pathway to meet that goal. There is no judgment, shame, or guilt but a safe place for vulnerable moments for everyone, regardless of background, political position, or belief system.

I have experience and great passion for helping those individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, fear, and the memories of past traumatic experiences that continue to have an affect on how they live their lives today. After meeting with and learning more about you, we will together decide on the most effective type of therapy to help you move forward with your life. Many therapies can be successful but I believe it ultimately comes down to the relationship that develops between the client and therapist, and the amount of work and effort put into making change happen.

I facilitate the client in the discovery of their own personal resolutions. My style of counseling is focused on self-exploration and increasing an individual's level of understanding surrounding their current life circumstances, and their own behaviors and reactions to those situations. I have a desire to understand each client, and utilize my therapeutic skills and knowledge of psychology and human behavior to facilitate growth. My philosophy is that a client is much more inclined to make possible their own solutions, if they are responsible for creating them. I am licensed in Washington, Oregon and Texas.

Self Esteem Therapists
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
