I love working with expecting and new parents; teens and young adults navigating growth, change, and identity exploration; and parents at any stage facing the challenges and pressures of modern life. As a mother of two and an experienced therapist, I know firsthand the challenges that come with this journey and the importance of having support, and I have the tools to offer that support to others.

Perinatal mental health trained and qualified through the Postpartum Stress Center, directly training with Author/researcher Karen Kleiman, and Postpartum Support International.
I work with individuals (ages 19–80) who are navigating a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. This often includes healing relational wounds, working with anxiety, complex trauma, and shifting out of insecure attachment patterns. I additionally have a passion for helping parents and birthing people through emotional intensity, identity shifts, and the generational patterns that tend to surface as we parent—particularly when external systems feel strained or unsupportive.

Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or postpartum and not yourself?
Therapy gives you a place to exhale and be honest about how hard it’s been. Together we’ll slow things down, care for your nervous system, and build practical, compassionate tools so you can move from overwhelm toward steadiness and self-compassion.

You might not even be able to name what’s wrong. You just know something feels off and it keeps showing up in your relationships, your reactions, the way your body holds onto things you thought you’d dealt with. I work with adolescents and adults who are ready to go beyond talking about what happened and actually heal from it. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I take this work seriously, and I’ll bring some humor along the way because healing doesn’t have to be heavy every single minute.

Are you living the life you desire? Do you want to find more peace, fun, and intimacy in your personal relationships? Anais Nin once said, "There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." This quote underscores my belief that change and growth are available to us all; we simply have to be willing for the process to unfold. You can create the life that you want. I will help you get there.

I work with men and women who are struggling with symptoms of depression/ anxiety, compulsive eating, relationship/family and family-of-origin issues, as well as grief and loss and life-phase-transition issues. I am particularly attuned to how early life attachment relationships impact clients' interpersonal functioning as adults. I have experience working with individuals suffering from Adrenal Fatigue, who are trying to cope with the often-misunderstood and disabling array of physical, mental and emotional challenges this condition causes. I conduct assessments for adult ADD/ ADHD and am licensed to assign diagnoses accordingly.

As a therapist, I help clients navigate the process of change in a caring and supportive environment. I believe counseling is an opportunity for healing and growth, for ourselves and our relationships. Throughout our lives we all have experiences that shape who we are and how we view the world. These experiences impact us in both positive and negative ways. Understanding how the past informs our present can empower us to make changes towards a more authentic future.

The guilt after setting a boundary. The constant second-guessing that follows. The quiet way you disappear to keep the peace, even when you promised yourself you wouldn’t this time. You’ve done the therapy. Read the books. Learned the tools. And still, in the moments that matter most, your nervous system takes over. You’re not broken. You’re not behind. You’re trying to solve a whole-person problem with only part of the picture. I work with high-functioning adults who understand their patterns but still feel dysregulated in the relationships that matter most.

I provide trauma-informed integrative care to individuals with a history of trauma, childhood trauma, neglect, and/or abuse, PTSD, C-PTSD, traumatic grief, and intergenerational trauma. As a whole, I work with individuals who come into therapy with a specific goal to address anxiety, mood, or ADHD symptoms to improve daily functioning. During our work, we often find that there is an undiagnosed, misdiagnosed, or unattended history of trauma that compounds mental health symptoms and overall functioning.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
