In a rapidly changing world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or uncertain about your direction. You don’t have to navigate it alone. I offer a supportive, thoughtful space where we can explore what matters most to you and work toward meaningful, lasting change. For over 15 years, I’ve accompanied people through personal and professional challenges using a psychodynamic and relational approach to therapy. I believe that what is wounded in relationships can also heal through a safe, authentic therapeutic relationship. In and out of network insurance available. Sliding Scale also if no insurance.

Welcome. Perhaps you know exactly why you're here. Perhaps you're contemplating. It may be healing from past trauma, shaping your anxious energy into something productive, envisioning your days without the weight of depression, searching your soul for connection to something greater, restoring relationships, evicting those critical thoughts you keep thinking about yourself/others, coping effectively with the ridiculous amount of stress out there, spiritual development, or tackling that “thing” that keeps holding you back. My therapeutic style balances understanding of where you're at with keeping you moving forward.

You may hear a calling to forge a new path toward a more meaningful life, one free of old patterns that no longer serve you or your relationships. The calling inspires you to go deeper within. You long to live life more fully with greater aliveness, creativity, and life purpose.

All are welcome at Abundance Family Therapy! Everyone has times that seem too hard to bear. Life can seem pretty heavy at times, and we just need our load lightened. Sometimes the heaviness comes from feelings of anxiety, depression, life transitions, loneliness, spiritual challenges, communication issues or even relationship fractures. If you find yourself feeling the weight of these things or perhaps other things in your life, please come on in and let me help lighten your load. Although experiencing these feelings or situations remind us, we are human, it is the overcoming that brings peace and growth.

I enjoy supporting children and families through play therapy, art therapy (and sometimes talk therapy too)! I believe in the resilience and strength of children and their families. I believe that children process the world through play, art and movement as much as, if not more than, they do through words. I believe in the power of play to help children make sense of their experiences and struggles and move toward positive change. I believe in the power of play to help families reconnect and build strong alliances with one another.

GreyMatters (the name) started as a joke - when I looked in the mirror and quipped that "even grey matters." That joke ignited an ADHD rabbit trail and the realization that my own personal jab needed transformation. GreyMatters Transformative Psychotherapy exists to provide a space that allows you to be heard, with complete acceptance, and discover your next step forward. This is not about someone telling you how to live or what to change, this is about you becoming the person you know yourself to be.

Change is an amazing opportunity for growth. Whether the change is initiated by us or is unexpected, change is an opportunity to increase our self-awareness and grow towards realizing our best selves. Change is often challenging and can feel scary. Exploring how we react to change by following the thread of our reactive emotions, thinking and behaviors directs us to the strategies that will effectively set us on the path to self-discovery and empowerment.

Are you ready to let go go old habits and ways of thought that shackle you? Would you like to move through your stuck places, your anxiety and your depression? Many people believe they are stuck in anxiety and depression when what they are really dealing with is a spiritual crisis. Once we bring in a level of work that acknowledges the very real struggles that they are dealing with, people begin to heal in new ways.

Overwhelmed by all the profiles yet? I've been there. It's kind of like choosing your favorite Hallmark sympathy card but they all start to sound the same after a while. So I hope this helps: the people who work best with me are motivated to understand, to change, and aren't afraid of being challenged. They can endure my awkward analogies and embrace the healing power of both laughter and silence in session. They want honesty. If you need a cheerleader for poor decisions and disordered thinking, I’m not your person. But if you’re looking for a therapist who is direct AND compassionate, strategic AND patient, that’s me.

Hi, I’m Donna, MSW Therapist and Wholistic Life Coach. I’m elated to serve you during your most vital transitions and help you succeed on the path that best suits your ability to live optimally. Life can be a challenge, I know. I am also aware that with every obstacle comes solutions that are viable for maintaining better outcomes. Particularly, there are times when we have to identify and examine uncomfortable behavioral patterns and dynamics that impede on our ability to function at our best. Confronting these limitations can often times feel like shame and guilt, and disassemble our ability to possess compassion for our process

You’ve been carrying a lot for a long time — expectations, identities that no longer fit, the pressure to hold everything together, or the quiet sense that you’ve lost touch with who you are becoming. Whether you’re navigating a major life transition, feeling the weight of anxiety or burnout, questioning long‑held beliefs, exploring your LGBTQ+ identity, or trying to rebuild trust in yourself after overwhelming or stressful experiences, you deserve a space where you can slow down, breathe, and reconnect with your inner voice.

Spirituality Therapists
What should I expect from therapy that incorporates a focus on spirituality?
Spirituality can mean different things to different individuals, depending on their experiences, beliefs, and life histories. Some individuals focus on strengthening their belief system, while others experience spirituality in secular ways, such as through meditation, yoga, or by spending time in nature. Clients can expect a therapist to help guide and grow their spirituality through any of these techniques, encouraging the individual to cope with the challenges they face and develop strategies to build resilience and purpose to improve their outlook in life.

What are the most common treatments that include spirituality?
There are several treatments that incorporate spirituality. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) helps a person examine and reframe their negative thoughts and behaviors. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) focuses on emotional acceptance and psychological flexibility. Existential therapy is most often used to address anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, apathy, despair, questions of identity, and feelings of purposelessness and existential dread. Transpersonal therapy focuses on a client’s spirituality and meaning in life and may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork.

Can therapy incorporating spirituality help atheistic or agnostic individuals?
Yes. For non-believers, spirituality can offer benefits including a greater sense of connection to others and to the natural world. An interest in spirituality may also spur individuals to pursue mindfulness practices, or to contemplate their purpose in life and how to achieve it.

How effective is spirituality as a therapeutic remedy?
Research suggests spirituality is generally beneficial for individuals. It is correlated with better health habits, such as less substance use, and an improved capacity to cope with stress and other mental health challenges. Increased spirituality can lead individuals to become more empathic and less materialistic, as well.
