You can find a safe harbor with Buoy 10 Psychotherapy; a place to get your breath and your bearings; a space to learn new ways to get to shore or wherever your destination might be.

My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, starting with a strong person-centered foundation that emphasizes genuine rapport and trust. I then incorporate psychodynamic principles and Jungian psychology (shadow work and archetypes) to help clients understand masks, integrate hidden parts, and achieve post-traumatic growth. I frequently use Batman and superhero mythology as relatable analogies, making the work especially accessible for first responders and helping professionals.

I believe we develop symptoms, such as depression and anxiety, when our body is trying to tell us something in our life is no longer working. You just want to feel normal again. You want to envision your future without this dark cloud over it. You want to make sense of what has happened and rediscover the parts of yourself that went missing along the way. I can help.

I have over thirty years of clinical experience helping clients find lasting change in their lives. My clinical focus is treating depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have specialized training in treating complex trauma including dissociative disorders. When working with trauma, the healing process can often be frightening and painful to address. Talk alone is not enough and can be retraumatizing in some cases. I use EMDR. My goal is to provide a professional, yet personal atmosphere where you can experience comfort and safety in exploring what is troubling you and find effective tools and skills that you can use in your life.

You may be a highly intuitive, sensitive, or emotionally aware person who feels ready for deeper change, but unsure how to access it. You might struggle with stress, self-doubt, overthinking, emotional blocks, or feeling disconnected from your true direction. You’re not broken—you’re simply seeking a gentler, more aligned way to create clarity, confidence, and inner balance. You want growth that feels natural, empowering, and rooted in self-trust rather than pressure or force.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
