Other issues that might come up include personality disorders, communication with loved ones, aging, career, family issues, men's issues, grief, and more.
It all starts with listening and exploring your story, what brings you in to therapy. For many it has been a long journey, for others something may have happened just recently which needs to be addressed, it could be dealing with a problematic recurring pattern, or it may be tied to things that happened long ago in the past. I use a person-centered approach, wholly focusing on you the client in the moment, bringing my training and my own best self forward to help you overcome the suffering that brings you to the office. I provide a compassionate, centered space in which to experience learning, growing, and healing.

I enjoy helping who are navigating a significant life transition or grappling with questions about identity, purpose, and change. Clients may be in the process of moving from adolescence to adulthood, adjusting to new responsibilities, or re-evaluating long held patterns in relationships and behavior. Often they come to me because life feels uncertain or out of balance. They sense that something needs to shift, but aren't sure where to start.

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, and trauma, as well as bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and ADHD.
Hi there! I am currently accepting Telehealth clients. Learning to trust someone is hard, but having to face difficult experiences alone can be even harder. I am here to help you make that journey (feel) easier, and help you grow at the same time. Using a holistic, person-centered approach, I will learn what makes you who you are, and will develop a unique treatment plan tailored to your needs. I enjoy working with individuals and couples, people of all orientations, and with military members and their families. I value support and validation but encourage solutions and change.

As a therapist, I believe meaningful change begins with connection. I’m especially passionate about working with couples—helping partners slow down, listen well, and rebuild trust when communication breaks down. My work is shaped by both clinical training and lived experience. I support couples and families facing conflict, life transitions, parenting stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and religious trauma. Grounded in the values of community and accountability, I offer a warm, honest space where partners can be vulnerable and work toward understanding, repair, and lasting growth.

I view my role as a therapist to support and assist individuals in making changes in their lives. This is done through learning about the individual, providing education and introducing skills to create the changes that the individual is wanting. Working together we will identify the obstacles and patterns that have interfered with the wanted changes. My style is to use structured set of tools from the evidence based methods so that individuals can meet their therapy goals.

I offer in-person appointments in Gig Harbor WA and Kingston WA, as well as Telehealth. Over the past 10+ years I have worked predominately with teens, adults and couples. We work in a spirit of collaboration, moving through the telling of your story, recognizing patterns, knowing your values, seeing the bigger picture and together finding solutions to heal and grow. This process can sometimes be hard, but the benefits of this work far outweigh staying the same. If you want a steady, nurturing but challenging therapeutic partnership, then you may have found the counselor for you.

I work with people who have experienced emotional pain and live disconnected lives as a result. You may often experience shame and fear as you navigate the world and relationships. Overfunctioning comes at the cost of under-feeling. You may be uncomfortable with your emotions and you may shy away from connection with people. And you seek therapy to find a different way of approaching life because you feel ready to shed the old.

Couples/Families: Close relationships can be difficult. Top issues that bring couples into counseling include: Money, In-Laws, Parenting, Housework, Sex, and Emotional Intimacy. Relational issues left untreated often cause couples to live in "quiet desperation" or all-out warfare. Couple and familial relationships don't have to be a series of endless arguments or giving up and feeling alone. With awareness, skills, and practice relationships can change for the better. I would be honored to help in this journey so that you and your loved ones can recover the joy, fun, and deep connection that first drew you together.

You might be feeling constantly on edge, overwhelmed by past experiences or the pressure to hold it all together. Maybe you’ve learned to stay quiet to keep the peace, but it’s exhausting. Whether you're a LGBTQIA+ person navigating identity and safety, or a military dependent carrying invisible weight from transitions or trauma, you deserve a space where you don’t have to explain the basics. You just want to feel grounded again and that’s not too much to ask.

If you’re here, you might be carrying a lot—quiet self-doubt, burnout that won’t lift, or the sense that your life changed faster than you could keep up. I support individuals navigating personal growth, negative self-talk, and burnout—especially high achievers who look “successful” on the outside but feel depleted or disconnected on the inside. Many of my clients are wrestling with life transitions, identity exploration around gender and sexuality, or redefining what healthy relationships and boundaries mean to them.

Personality Disorders Therapists
What are the common treatment options for personality disorders?
Personality disorders are typically treated with psychotherapy, sometimes in conjunction with medication. Therapy can help people with personality disorders develop skills to tolerate difficult emotions, navigate interpersonal relationships, and solidify their sense of self. Medications can treat symptoms that co-occur with the disorder, such as depression, anger, aggression, and impulsivity.

When to seek treatment for personality disorders?
Even though treatment for personality disorders can be an uphill battle, it’s best to seek help if you suspect that you or a loved one is struggling with one, because personality disorders can create substantial problems in life. Symptoms depend on the specific disorder, but overall signs of personality disorders include consistent difficulty maintaining close relationships, dramatic variations in self-esteem, and an unstable sense of identity.

How long does therapy take for personality disorders?
The timeline for treating personality disorders isn’t as clear-cut as it is for other disorders. Change can be difficult, taking from around one year to five, 10, or more. The key is finding a therapist who has extensive experience treating the relevant disorder. For example, a psychologist who specializes in narcissistic personality disorder has specific communication strategies that allow them to sustain the relationship and be more effective with narcissistic patients.

Can therapy help people with personality disorders?
Research suggests that for those who are motivated to address concerns or interpersonal conflict related to a personality disorder, therapy is far more effective than no treatment, and that most people in therapy see improvements. However, since personality disorders involve entrenched elements of identity, they are less responsive to treatment than are other mental health conditions. Finding an expert who has extensive experience working with a given personality disorder is one factor that increases the likelihood of successful treatment.
