Other issues that might come up include personality disorders, communication with loved ones, aging, career, family issues, men's issues, grief, and more.
It all starts with listening and exploring your story, what brings you in to therapy. For many it has been a long journey, for others something may have happened just recently which needs to be addressed, it could be dealing with a problematic recurring pattern, or it may be tied to things that happened long ago in the past. I use a person-centered approach, wholly focusing on you the client in the moment, bringing my training and my own best self forward to help you overcome the suffering that brings you to the office. I provide a compassionate, centered space in which to experience learning, growing, and healing.

I enjoy helping who are navigating a significant life transition or grappling with questions about identity, purpose, and change. Clients may be in the process of moving from adolescence to adulthood, adjusting to new responsibilities, or re-evaluating long held patterns in relationships and behavior. Often they come to me because life feels uncertain or out of balance. They sense that something needs to shift, but aren't sure where to start.

You think fast, feel deeply, and hold a lot. From the outside, you seem steady and functioning. On the inside? You're scanning every emotion in the room, running 12 open tabs at once: other people’s feelings, systems, outcomes, and unspoken needs. You’re the go-to for problem-solving. But your own burnout or emotional overwhelm isn’t something you can think your way out of. I work with deep processors stuck in overdrive—people who are perceptive, layered, and often wondering if they’re “too much.” Together, we listen for what’s underneath and start shifting the patterns keeping you stuck.

Hypnosis is not what you think it is. People get the idea from pop culture that hypnosis is something I will put on you or do to you. This isn't true. You’ve already been in a hypnotic state thousands of times throughout your life. Hypnotherapy is simply using this perfectly natural state to create positive change. This typically requires 3 to 5 sessions. As a certified hypnotherapist, I use hypnosis to help clients overcome limiting and negative behaviors, feelings, & chronic pain. The issues you struggle with originate below the conscious level. If they didn’t, you would easily be able to overcome them using your conscious mind.

A good therapist ought to be like the perfect pair of shoes: terrific support, comfortable fit, and a style that matches your own. And of course, the best way to assess whether those “shoes” are right for you is to try them on.
Let’s sit down for a few minutes of conversation, without any fee or obligation, to see whether I might be useful to you. In such a meeting, as in regular therapy sessions, my focus will be on listening for specific ways to interrupt the negative and establish more positivity. If you decide to work with me, your own strengths, and the challenges you face right now, will determine much of how we proceed.

In the whirlwind of life, we can lose our balance and drift away from our natural rhythms and the world around us. What we may need most is a space for quiet reflection, a moment of repose where our thoughts can flow freely. This practice is for those who seek a richer, more vibrant life—one where living takes precedence over merely existing. Here, I aim to offer healing and guidance for those seeking clarity, purpose, authenticity, and a deeper connection to themselves and the world. Whether it be life transitions, trauma and growth, whole person wellness and spirituality, or philosophical counseling I am here to help.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
