I work with individuals navigating relationship challenges, domestic violence, substance use, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Some days we use structured approaches like IFS or cognitive-based strategies, and other days focus on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space to process thoughts and emotions openly. Humans are complex and intricate, and I tailor each session to what is most needed in the moment—whether that’s insight, skill-building, or simply giving space for them to feel heard—so clients can move forward with greater clarity, stability, and self-understanding.

Accepting New Clients! For years I wondered why I struggled with focusing, poor memory, high energy, listening, deadlines, or remembering to eat. It was only after I was diagnosed with ADHD before I realized "hey, I am not making this up," or "I am not dumb- I learn differently." Attempts to meet the expectations of a neurotypical society creates a harmful cycle where we feel it is relentless and never ending. Past life experiences can and still haunt us, as society continues to "inform" us of what "normal" looks like. Trying to mask who we are daily is exhausting and painful, and only breeds more pain and internal hurt.

My passion is in connecting clients to their inner process - what is trying to happen - as demonstrated by their symptoms. Once we discover the issue and address it, the symptoms no longer need to be present. This approach is from a type of Jungian psychotherapy called Process Oriented Psychology, which holds as its premise that there is always something right about what is going on in our lives - our process. It also includes a mixture of some Taoism and Buddhism, and can include work with body symptoms, dreams, and relationships. I look forward to talking with you to see how I might help you resolve your personal issues.

I enjoy working with people who want to help themselves. I realize we all face challenges and there is no such thing as perfection. Individuals who worry too much about the little things, struggle to put words to feelings, and genuinely desire to figure things out. I meet you where you are at offering a supportive, but direct interaction. Together we work toward achieving your goals as you progress into the best version of yourself.

You’re insightful and self-aware, but that doesn’t mean you’re not struggling. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed by expectations, unsure how to set boundaries without guilt, or stuck in a loop of self-criticism and anxiety. Therapy is a space where we can sort through that together- honestly, gently, and with direction. I support young adults who are navigating anxiety, emotional fatigue, identity shifts, and relational challenges. We'll explore how your internal patterns show up in daily life, and how to shift them in grounded, sustainable ways. My approach blends practical tools with deeper emotional work.

I see clients from a wide area here in at my Downtown Tacoma Location. You may be carrying anxiety that does not turn off, depression that has flattened your weeks, sleep that will not hold, or a trauma history you have never said out loud. Maybe you are facing a court date, an immigration filing, or a hearing that will decide what happens next — and you need both honest clinical care and an evaluator who knows how courts read a report. You deserve a clinician who has sat with crisis, with deployment, and with hard rooms, and who will treat you as a whole person while we do the work. What would feel different if it actually changed?

If you’ve experienced counseling before, you already know how transformative the therapeutic relationship can be. If you haven’t, I invite you to take that first step and discover its value for yourself. As a Therapist, my role is to understand the concerns that bring you in and to walk beside you as a compassionate guide through your journey. Life rarely unfolds according to plan. That’s why having a safe, welcoming space to reflect, process, and grow is so important. Relationships are central to our wellbeing, yet navigating them can feel overwhelming; especially when there’s no universal guidebook to follow. My goal is to help.

Oftentimes we seek out therapy because components in our lives are causing us significant distress and disrupt our ability to function effectively and feel happiness. I ask clients who come into therapy to bring with them an open attitude, a willingness to explore their life perspectives and their relationships with others, that they may experience true change and healing. This journey towards emotional maturity often involves a certain amount of discomfort and pain before the healing and change can occur. I provide a warm, trusting, safe space to assist people so that they may continue that journey.

From the moment we are born, we engage with conditions that shape us: our family of origin, the particulars of our health, and a lifetime of complex experiences, both subtle and profound. Sometimes these experiences invite further processing, integration, and adaptation. I am here, for all of those moments, challenging transitions, and crises of self, to provide a therapeutic container that is warm, collaborative, and focused on growth. I assist clients with identifying pervasive patterns, in pursuit of establishing new ways for living in alignment with what is authentic, vital, and personally defined.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
