I believe that we are each created to live a life full of hope, to be deeply connected to others through relationship, and live in restoration. However, during our journey through life, situations happen that strain our hope, relationships are broken, and restoration feels distant. My hope is that through therapy, you will begin to turn towards the future by looking at the past. While the journey may feel daunting, my desire is that together, we may find the path forward, one step at at time.

You may not be sure exactly what is troubling you, much less what can help, and opening up to and trusting someone to care often seems too difficult. I will work to put you at ease with understanding and support as we create a positive working relationship. We will build on that to sort out your challenges and find ways for you to cope, change yourself or your situation, and accept whatever the reality is until you are back to feeling happier and stronger.

I have over 30 years of experience in the US and abroad across a wide array of issues including mental health, substance abuse and education. My professional training is in 4 disciplines; Psychology, Social Work, Education, and Mindfulness. Working with many people around the world I've learned finding peace of mind happens many different ways. We'll find ways that work for you. Overcoming life challenges often starts by seeing them as invitations to change. As a "guide by your side" you'll learn new skills & knowledge, together creating a Self-Care Plan for health and well being to increase inner peace and joy in your heart.

I believe we develop symptoms, such as depression and anxiety, when our body is trying to tell us something in our life is no longer working. You just want to feel normal again. You want to envision your future without this dark cloud over it. You want to make sense of what has happened and rediscover the parts of yourself that went missing along the way. I can help.

Are you suffering with anxiety and depression every day? Do you experience current triggers associated with past childhood or recent trauma? Most importantly, are these symptoms interfering with your daily life - are they making it difficult to impossible for you to experience joy and happiness? If you're reading this, then you are driven to recovery, which is the first and most important step to healing these symptoms. Childhood trauma (neglect, verbal, mental, emotional, physical, sexual abuse) will have a lasting effect on our lives and we get stuck with negative beliefs and negative internalized stories about ourselves.

It is a gift to witness and collaborate as my clients experiment, test-run, practice, and play. My style is warm and I occasionally attempt humor. It takes bravery to enter into conversation about change, much less try on new behaviors. Common topics I work with include: cultivating satisfying relationships, life transitions, anti-oppression, stress, anger, grief, sexual and gender identity, polyamory, wealth and identity, shame, and integrity. I also counsel and consult on recovery from experiences of undue influence, coercion and exploitation, such as those common with con-artists and groups with cult-like features.

People might come to therapy because they are dissatisfied with where they are in life, or they feel maddened and drained by intrusive thoughts, or pain and loss in all its forms makes life feel intolerable and meaningless.  Panic can make it diffuclt to focus. There might feel like an overwhelming amount of choices, and each choice with a host of pros and cons, with none of the choices standing out.  Or the feeling of being trapped makes it difficult to see any choice at all.   Often times it can feel as if time is working against us.  Navigating one's own lives can feel overwhelming.

*Please note that I am currently full and not taking new clients. I will update this message when I am able to take new clients.* It takes courage to start therapy. You've probably tried a number of ways to do this yourself. You want to feel better, more in control and not be so bothered by certain people, things, and past events. That is exactly what I am trained and experienced in helping people do.

Hi! Thank you for reading my page. We all go through difficult, stressful, or even traumatic life experiences, and we may get stuck in patterns of thinking and behaving that leave us depressed, anxious, or unfulfilled. While we can’t change the past, we can learn to heal, build a brighter present, and a hopeful future. Everyone has strengths and we will draw from these in therapy. I'll help you learn to process emotions, live in the present, and focus on what matters to you most. Therapy is a unique process where we get to work together to help increase joy in your life and help you become the best version of yourself!

I believe that each person strives to feel contentment and become the best version of themselves. This can mean something different to each person, which is why I enjoy the diversity that each individual brings to therapy. It is exciting to watch the growth that individuals experience with some guidance and support. I specialize working with mood disorders & trauma. Trauma is any experience that has overwhelmed your ability to cope and has impacted how you now perceive yourself and the world around you. We can work together to heal and grow past previous experiences so that you can be the best version of yourself

I’m so glad you are here. Do you feel overwhelmed, confused, stuck, anxious, or dissociated? Find yourself shutting people out and pushing them away, or say yes for fear of being alone? Sometimes it’s just easier to do things ourselves, to hold it all. We often spend so much time protecting ourselves from pain that we feel like we are not really living. Humans are hardwired to focus on the negative aspects of life for survival; even when there is some good, we push the positive away or have a hard time accepting it.

Sometimes we need support with what has happened, what is happening in our lives now, or the uncertainty of what the future holds. Maybe you feeling deeply out of alignment with yourself, partners, children, or community. Our relationships to ourselves and each other is dynamic and can get messy. We find ourselves responding, feeling, and living in ways that don't serve us or the ones we love.

I work with older teens and adults who want support in meeting the challenges they face with more ease. In my counseling sessions I provide a space that is open, safe, and nonjudgmental. I listen closely for all that is present in you in the moment, and I offer reflections and questions to help you bring greater awareness to your experience. Over time, we can together begin to notice patterns of thinking, believing, and acting that have woven through your past and present. We may begin to see what has been helpful, and also what is now keeping you out of alignment with the life that is authentic to you.

I hold a deep belief that we all have an enduring drive toward wholeness in the ways we attempt to manage life's events as they happen to us. As we grow up and older, the ways we learned to cope with those events often stop working for us. We hold onto those tactics because they are what we know how to do. What troubles us (fear, anxiety, depression, anger, chronic pain or illness - and more) is our coping strategies fail to prevent past traumas coming up in life again and again to haunt us. We can be free of those and experience happiness, peace of mind, and know what it is to have purpose and meaning.

Good therapy is based on a good therapeutic relationship. There are no "right" answers; only answers that are right for you. In a safe and supportive environment, we can focus on how you see the world and how the world sees you, improve communication and identify self-needs, rediscover your unique gifts and role in life, and create and maintain healthy boundaries. I am a member of MAPS.org, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies and can assist with integration of psychedelic experiences.
