*Accepting new clients* The journey to healing begins with a desire to feel better. Together, we’ll work to discover what “better” looks like and what can be done to achieve it. There are many ways life shows us we are stuck in our own story; addiction, depression, anxiety, anger and many other indicators can be present when we’re experiencing such pain. How did we get here? How do we get out? What are we holding onto? Who can we not let go?

I believe "No matter the struggle, the addiction, the anger , the loss, the fear, nor the hurt, anyone can overcome hopelessness, relieve their pain, change their behavior, adjust their perspective and find peace in their life.
My personal and professional experiences have allowed me to provide the best practices in the fields of Behavioral Health and Mental Health treatment. I utilize Biblical principles as I believe it contains answers necessary for overcoming obstacles which hinder efforts at obtaining and maintaining a right relationship with God and finding freedom from the bondage which result from addiction, loss, emotional pain, and life difficulties. My ideal clients are sincere about moving from positions of powerlessness to positions of strength as we journey together, gaining effective Christian and clinical solutions along the way.

Are you ready for help with organizing the slurry of overwhelm, burnout, shame, trauma, bullying, stress overload, or anger ? I also offer additional expertise with anger management and EMDR.
There are many different reasons people spend time seeking the help of a professional counselor. Some have a specific targeted problem they wish to overcome. Others need a safe and comfortable space to talk to a nonjudgmental person outside of their usual friends and family. While still others may need help navigating their interpersonal relationships. Whatever your reason is for seeking counseling, it is my goal to help you overcome those issues in your own journey to healing.

I have facilitated domestic violence groups and anger management classes for men and women for over 15 years.
I am currently closed to new clients. Please see abwcs.com as several of my colleagues have openings. I provide telehealth and in-person counseling services. I can provide counseling to any Washington or Idaho State residents. Since 1994, I've helped clients work through trauma, learn about codependency and healthy boundaries, address anxiety, navigate challenging transitions, and improve communication in their relationships. Other clinicians would be better suited to help address chronic depression. I support and challenge clients to take needed action in order to improve the quality of their lives and relationships.

We are living in some challenging times. If you’re struggling, that means you’re human. Know that asking for help is a strength. My therapy is collaborative in nature. I treat a range of difficulties using a variety of techniques. I work from an attachment perspective that is emotionally focused. I believe therapy involves the presence of your entire being (mind/body/spirit). Ultimately, I believe human connection is one of the most important healing tools. Thus, I create a safe therapeutic environment where growth and discovery can flourish. I bring my full self to my work – my optimism, my directness, my persistence, my humor.

Anger Management Therapists

How long does therapy take for anger management?

Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?

Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?

Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?

It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
