We all experience moments when we feel down, confused, or lost. We begin to question how we ended up here—unsure if we even recognize ourselves or our relationships. We may doubt whether we have the tools to find our way out. Strategies that once worked seem to fall short, leaving us back where we started or feeling even more alone. It makes sense that you're ready for change and seeking a compassionate guide to help. Therapy offers safe space to rediscover clarity, curiosity, confidence, and compassion for yourself and others. Together, we can begin where you are, and step by step, move toward the growth you’re seeking.

By the end of the day, there's nothing left in your tank. Trying to keep up with the grind of life and responsibilities never seem to lift. You live on auto-pilot, but don’t feel alive. A lingering sense of loneliness and insecurity colors the way you experience life and relationships. You don’t want to live this way, but you can’t seem to change. Unhealthy habits and relationships have become your way of coping to escape reality. In moments alone, you wonder if there is more to life than this?

I can help you heal, navigate relationships and transitions, and discover why you may face the same challenges again and again. If you feel trapped, uneasy or stalled in making decisions, I can help. The stresses of life squeeze our ability to think clearly and feel at the same time. As a result, our emotions rule us, resulting in depression, anxiety, anger, and relationship difficulties. I help clients learn to regulate their emotions, reduce triggers and reach their goals. I also work with clients estranged from loved ones and those with bodily struggles such as eczema/steroid withdrawl and connecting with their bodies

As a family systems therapist with an interest in couples reconciliation therapy and healing relational trauma from infidelity, I am passionate about walking beside you to work through the pain and confusion of your life situation.  Intimate betrayal is one of the most devastating and disorienting events that can happen to a relationship.  The betrayed partner is left questioning fundamental beliefs and wrestling with the very existence of truth, love and relationship history. I also work with couples who long to enhance communication, connection, and build shared long term goals and values.

You may feel overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or stuck—like you need change but nothing you've tried has worked so far. You’re overthinking, feeling stuck, struggling to focus, and running on empty. Maybe you’re facing a divorce, major life change, or relationship stress. From the outside you might look “fine,” but inside you feel disconnected, irritable, lost, or scared. You’re tired of pushing through and wondering why you still feel this way, even when you're self aware and doing your best to cope. You want clarity, calm, and real support to help you feel like yourself again.

Initial trust is not earned; it is a risk. And so, it means you might be a human if you’ve struggled in this. The more emotionally safe a person is, the easier it is to venture into trust, a process which requires getting to know someone. For some though, it comes down to “who is even worth the risk anymore?” Well, for starters, it’s when you can be yourself, feel acceptance and kindness, do not have to fear controlling behavior, and the other person demonstrates honesty and accountability through courage, compassion...and a tad of humor, as the medicine of connection comes in both the oxygen of laughter and the saline of tears.

You often feel anxious, emotionally reactive, or unsure of yourself, especially in relationships. Your body seems to respond before you can make sense of what’s happening, leaving you feeling overwhelmed, “too sensitive,” or constantly on edge. You may have spent years trying to understand yourself, through thinking, analyzing, or even therapy, but something still doesn’t shift. You might notice patterns like overthinking, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, or feeling stuck in cycles that don’t fully make sense. My work focuses on helping you feel different, not just think differently.

Folks I work with describe me as warm and nonjudgmental, yet assertive and highly engaged. Our work will be an active collaboration - while I will continuously strive to deeply understand your inner experience, I will also point out things in your behavior or thinking that you may not be aware of and offer potential explanations of your challenges as well as practical suggestions about achieving your goals. As you gain more understanding and compassion towards the anxious, depressed, angry, or hurting parts of yourself, you will feel increasingly more grounded and empowered to lead the life that you desire.

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
