You look like you have it together. Most days, you almost believe it yourself. But underneath, you're functioning on empty, carrying anxiety, burnout, and the weight of everyone else's expectations. You've lost track of what you actually need.
You might be navigating people-pleasing, perfectionism, cultural and family pressures, or an identity that feels fragmented between worlds. Nobody would guess how much you're carrying which is truly the loneliest part. You were meant for more than just getting through it. Part of you already knows that, even if you're not quite sure yet what that looks like or where to start.

You may not know exactly when it shifted, but something feels different. Midlife and later life can arrive quietly—through subtle changes in your body, relationships, or roles. Recovery takes longer. Energy feels different. Parents need care. Retirement or career recalibration comes into view. Long-standing partnerships begin navigating new terrain shaped by health changes, shifting identities, or evolving intimacy. You may feel stretched between responsibility and reflection—wanting steadiness, clarity, and a place to think deeply about what this season means for you and your relationships. You don’t have to face it alone.

Healing is a journey. For some, "healing" means reversing years of trauma, and for others it means 'getting out of my own head' or 'getting un-stuck.' For everyone, the path to healing is a difficult one, and it is lighter, easier, more meaningful when others join in with you. To you who have tried to go it alone, I invite you to reach out. Connecting with a counselor is a way to get un-stuck in your journey towards health, to bring healing to those deeper places of hurt.

What do all those therapist letters actually mean? If you’ve been scanning these profiles and wondering about LMHC, LICSW, LMFT, SUDP, CCTP, or CMHS—you’re not alone. LMHC (mental health), LICSW (person + systems), LMFT (relationships), SUDP (substance use). An “A” means Associate—newer, supervised, often with fresh training. Psychologists do assessments such as adhd; psychiatrists prescribe.
The letters matter far less than the relationship: feeling safe, understood, and genuinely connected is what actually makes therapy work. Give me a call for a free 15 minute consult and you can see if I feel like a good fit.

I’m Dr. Chanin, a depth-oriented somatic psychotherapist and intuitive, dedicated to helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom and heal what has been held in your nervous system for far too long. Healing is relational, embodied, and an integrative process. We all innately have what we need to heal, grow, or transform; all we need is a witness or present non-judgmental support. Allow me to be your witness and support you on your journey. Healing is not a destination; it is a process of awareness, acceptance, and transformation. I’m here to help you reclaim what trauma, loss, and systems may have taken away: connection to Self.

I specialize in working with people who suffer from the effects of chronic stress from anxiety to autoimmune diseases, insomnia, hormonal imbalances, digestive discomfort and maladaptive coping mechanisms.
Do you ever feel like you can't find peace? Stress and anxiety are challenges on their own. When they begin to impact other parts of our lives and lead to chronic health conditions, life can feel overwhelming. Sometimes it can feel as though there is never time to rest, or maybe you've forgotten what rest even feels like. If that's the case, you're not alone. The pace of our modern world is not in alignment with how our nervous systems are built to function. That's why I specialize in nervous system regulation and helping individuals to cultivate resilient and adaptive nervous systems.

Hey there, my name is Kuhu (pronounced KOO-hoo)! I'm glad you're here. Reaching out for support can be one of the hardest steps especially when you're used to being self-reliant and seen as capable.
As a survivor of trauma myself, I’m passionate about working with individuals who learned to survive early in life by becoming hyper-independent, hyper-competent, or hyper-aware of others. You found a way to survive and meet expectations. But the survival strategies that once helped you succeed, may be the very patterns that are keeping you exhausted and on edge. That's where this work comes in.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
