As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am passionate about getting to the heart of the challenge(s) my clients face. I desire to work with my clients in discovering who they are by working through the issue(s) they face and achieve their desired goal(s). There is no absolute way to achieve that, however; my role is to offer a judgment free safe space for my clients that allows for transparency in all aspects of their life to allow for hope to eliminate the feelings of being stuck and overwhelmed. I work with individuals, couples, and families

There are a lot of great listeners out there that will help you feel comfortable and heard. That’s not me. Don’t get me wrong, I will listen and explore with you, but if you’re coming to see a therapist, it’s likely that not everything in your life is going the way you want. I’m invested in helping you move forward, not just passively listening while you stay stuck.

Do you need compassionate care you can trust? If you do, my clinical training, experience, and personality may be just right for you. My ideal client is a person that is ready to open up to 1) what they are experiencing, and 2) how to change. I don't just want to help you manage your symptoms, though I definitely want that for you. I also want to help you grow and change in ways that the symptoms don't return!

I have over a decade of training & experience in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, & insomnia, and I enjoy working with anyone who feels "stuck" in some way.
I believe humans generally do the best they can with the internal resources & external supports they have. When those things aren't enough, mental health and overall functioning take the hit. I trust your understanding of your problems, and will work to earn your trust in our relationship. Together, we can get you "unstuck" and moving toward your goals.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
