Stress and trauma can have a profound impact on your daily wellbeing. Maybe reading the news sends your shoulders hunching up toward your ears and your fingers gripping the steering wheel. Maybe you struggle to say no to others, or feel stuck in life and unable to take action. Therapy can be one important part of learning how to process stress and trauma, so you feel more able to support yourself and intentionally respond (rather than react) to life's challenges.

You're waking up each day and finding yourself repeating the same patterns, feeling stuck despite having insight into what isn't working, or wondering why lasting change feels so difficult. Your relationship with yourself, with others are difficult to maintain or you may react in ways that do not align with who you want to be. If this sounds familiar, therapy may offer the deeper exploration needed to create meaningful change. I work best with individuals and couples who are motivated for growth, willing to engage honestly in the therapeutic process and want to make the change.

I firmly agree with what somatic psychotherapist Dr. Arielle Schwartz once affirmed: "The number one evidence for healing is the therapeutic alliance." I believe that therapy is not just about treating a diagnosis — it’s about creating a compassionate, attuned space where your full humanity is welcomed. As Gabor Maté wisely said, healing isn’t about eliminating pain, but expanding our capacity to be resilient with it.
I deeply care and specialize in working with C-PTSD, anxiety, and depression, and I approach each session with empathy, curiosity, and respect. I honor all the parts of you — even the ones that feel heavy or hidden.

I work with individuals coping with anxiety and depression, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship dynamics, and caregiver stress.
My style in sessions is warm and collaborative. We create a space for you to slow down and reflect and notice the thoughts and feelings that emerge. We may notice patterns and connections both in sessions and outside of sessions. The therapy frameworks I turn to most often include psychodynamic, existential and mindfulness approaches.

In my approach to counseling, I listen attentively and non-judgmentally. I focus on people’s stories and the stories the world tells about them. I value these narratives, and hold them during our work together so that we may reference them in the process of creating a story that feels more in line with my clients goals and purpose. I also work with clients in exploring ways to alleviate suffering, reduce stress and increase self empowerment and enjoyment of one's life. My approach is strengths based and I believe we each have all the answers we need within us, sometimes we just need help teasing them out or trusting them.

The problems and desires you bring to therapy are invitations to heal and grow. I'll help you respond to those invitations with creativity, vitality, and hope. Jung wrote that "The greatest and most important problems in life can never be solved, only outgrown." Such problems, he continued, "fade when confronted with a new and stronger life urge." I'll help you find those new, stronger, deeper, more authentic parts of yourself, and bring them to life.

If you feel that childhood trauma, unhappy relationships, anxiety, grief, guilt, or shame are keeping you from fully enjoying your life, you will likely respond well to a depth-psychology approach.
In relationships, each person's past affects the dynamic. Until this is resolved, communication skills aren't enough. Understanding how the past is impacting the present can help foster connection and intimacy. For both individuals and couples, I use practical and depth psychologies to address past and present, using insight and action for a better future.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
