I specialize in working with individuals, families, and couples who are navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, grief and loss, and the complexities of familial relationships.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that people already hold wisdom about their own lives. When people are met with curiosity, compassion, and the right kind of support, they can access that wisdom and move toward meaningful change.

I work with individuals living with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and isolation.
Many of us learn early on that our belonging in this world depends on our ability to banish aspects of ourselves that cannot be safely held by others. We skillfully fold and shrink ourselves into the shapes that allow us to survive, sometimes with great reward for doing so, but find that our deepest longings go unmentioned and unmet. I am here to hold space for those parts which are too big, too unbearable to be held alone, so that my clients can expand in ways that help them contact their feelings, connect to their desires, and begin to find a home in the world.

I work with individuals who want to understand the deeper emotional and relational patterns driving life's challenges, particularly those struggling with unwanted behaviors (compulsivity, emotional reactivity, avoidance, etc.) Together, we identify the strengths and resources that have helped you persevere. Then explore the painful aspects of life that have contributed to behaviors that no longer serve your goals or well-being. By developing a deeper understanding of the roots of your struggles, we can create a path toward lasting growth, healing, and meaningful change.

Carrying the weight of anxiety, grief, or feeling disconnected—from those around you or even from yourself—can feel like too much to manage on your own.
A key part of my approach is honoring each client’s uniqueness. I use CBT, EMDR for trauma, and Restoration Therapy, which blends attachment theory, emotion regulation, and mindfulness to help you understand patterns and create meaningful change.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
