Many of us learn early on that our belonging in this world depends on our ability to banish aspects of ourselves that cannot be safely held by others. We skillfully fold and shrink ourselves into the shapes that allow us to survive, sometimes with great reward for doing so, but find that our deepest longings go unmentioned and unmet. I am here to hold space for those parts which are too big, too unbearable to be held alone, so that my clients can expand in ways that help them contact their feelings, connect to their desires, and begin to find a home in the world.

It takes courage to seek help. Whether you are trying to make an important decision, facing a crisis, or in the middle of a major transition in your life, it makes sense to seek counsel. Something has shifted, and the coping strategies that used to carry you through are not quite holding the weight anymore.
My clients are adults who want to think carefully about what is happening to them and make meaningful choices about what comes next. You do not have to have the answers when you arrive. You need the space to slow down, hear yourself, and work through it with someone who is genuinely in your corner.

With depression, anxiety, trauma and childhood sexual abuse, I use Attachment-Focused EMDR and Lifespan Integration.
Life overwhelms us all at times. As a counselor, I meet you in those difficult parts of life, accompany you on your unique journey to redemption, healing and wholeness, helping you secure meaningful and lasting change. Together we name your problems and find their solutions; both the issues and the solutions are unique to you. Often we are pressured to "profile" ourselves-to label or describe ourselves in an way so that allows others to quickly "peg" who we are. But we are much more complex-- each of us has a story to tell. Each narrative has a distinctive trajectory.

Of primary importance to me is that I truly hear you, letting you know that you are understood and that our time together is a safe, nurturing place in which to heal. This helps us develop a plan together in which we can work to revise unhealthy, repetitive thought patterns and develop new ways of thinking, using healthy communication tools and skills to provide that full life we wish for. I combine talk therapy with specialized therapies targeted to your specific needs and areas in which you wish to grow. Therapy is geared toward your needs, not the therapist's direction.

My most fervent wish as a counselor is to hold space to people to be vulnerable with their celebrations and struggles. My goal is for you to feel cared for and empowered during our time. I strive to cultivate an open minded and non-judgmental space for clients to share their most honest selves. I believe people grow the most when they feel accepted and cared for, while also being challenged to lean into their innate resiliency.

I am passionate about healing the whole self, uncovering the roots of past core injuries, and understanding how they affect your present. Equally, I am dedicated to helping you build a fulfilling future by identifying your strengths, capacities, values, and intrinsic motivations. Many people are surprised to realize how often we live according to others’ values, which can prevent us from living authentically. Identifying these core components is the first step toward embedding them in your daily life and aligning with your true values and strengths.

At Flourish Beyond Therapy, I provide individual therapy for adult women navigating the lasting effects of childhood emotional neglect, anxiety, self-doubt, and burn-out.
Emotional neglect can be subtle and easy to miss. You may have grown up in a home that looked “fine” from the outside- where physical needs were met, but emotional needs weren’t acknowledged, supported, or valued. Over time this can quietly shape how you relate to others- especially in adulthood.

Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ folks, or abuse survivors - adults who deal with profound personal trauma and loss, issues of identity, depression, anxiety, shame, and loneliness.
Together we will work on accepting those aspects of you that resist grace. We will strengthen your sense of how to make meaning in your life, and how to find agency within that. Above all, our work will observe and make meaning out of how our particular therapeutic relationship takes shape, and how it reflects the shape of your other relationships.

My ideal client is curious about their mind and tired of masking, overthinking, or pushing through life without support. They may be overwhelmed, burned out, or questioning whether neurodivergence plays a role in their story. They want language for what they’re experiencing, tools that actually fit them, and a therapeutic space where they don’t have to explain or hide who they are.

Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.
When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.
What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.
How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
