My approach to awakening is really quite simple: We engage in honest and direct conversation about life, relationships, and you. During sessions you recognize core beliefs, thoughts, and feelings that create unsatisfying work and relationships. In time you overcome anxiety, depression, and addictions that hinder a meaningful life. Additionally, you let go of long held resentments and regrets about your self, others, and the world. You become more PRESENT and AWARE. You discover practical solutions to everyday problems. With greater presence, your energy is used for creativity. You are guided into a brighter future!

I coach mid-life professionals experiencing important challenges in their career and life. This may involve career changes and transitions, working with difficult people, building self-confidence, handling conflicts, family members as coworkers, career development, or becoming an entrepreneur. My ideal client is seeking to create a life that is rich, meaningful, and rewarding. Together we look at what you value, what gives meaning, what kind of career and life would be fulfilling - utilizing your best gifts. We tackle the tough questions, work through obstacles and discover the hidden strengths that were there all along.

So many people struggle to find happiness and balance in their lives and relationships. I can help you identify and remove the blocks to your happiness, whether they be inside of you (your thoughts, expectations and anxieties) or outside (toxic relationships, cultural barriers, etc.). I can also help you address and face the fears which hold you back, identify relationship patterns which keep you from getting what you want in love, and help you think outside the box to create novel solutions to your struggles.

As a Systemic Therapist I love helping people explore who they are, what they want, and how to get past the hurdles that get in their way. I support people around all issues of identity: how they see themselves, what parts are hidden, and how these things affect their interactions with others. I find that issues of identity are often the core of both personal dissatisfaction and conflicts with others, and so I help people explore what those are and how to work with them.

Sessions entail clarifying values and what brings meaning to one's life, and how to utilize that to give one direction and develop effective tools and intentions. Therapy can be a challenging space. I find great importance in the therapeutic relationship and aim to provide a safe and comfortable space for individuals to be authentic in sharing their story, and working through a variety of issues.

Of primary importance to me is that I truly hear you, letting you know that you are understood and that our time together is a safe, nurturing place in which to heal. This helps us develop a plan together in which we can work to revise unhealthy, repetitive thought patterns and develop new ways of thinking, healthy communication tools and skills to provide that full life we wish for. We combine talk therapy with specialized therapies targeted to your specific needs and areas in which you wish to grow. Therapy is geared toward your needs, not the therapist's direction.

How can we change and grow? SENSING anxiety, stress, fear, and knowing that "something" NEEDS to be addressed and made better is often the start to being more alive. Getting to a higher living and performance level; developing a balancing mindfulness; solving complex problems; working toward life or career transitioning; and working with people who feel "stuck" and are looking for new direction are all parts of my focus as Coach. Comments I’ve received: "You really 'get' me." "I could not have handled this crisis without you." "You challenge me to do better, and hold me accountable." "Thank you for hearing me!" "Fabulous."

Everyone needs hope. We despair and turn to alcohol, food, shopping, sex and the infinite screen to fill our void. We think we know what we want: intimacy, confidence, inner peace and a sense of achievement. We want to matter. We are tortured at times by self doubt implanted by past traumas. I offer a secure place to be yourself to unravel your secrets, fears, shame and guilt. I have 26 years post-doctoral clinical experience counseling individuals, couples and families. I view human problems from a social systemic perspective addressing the individual and their social context.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
