My philosophy is that "knowledge is power" and I believe that every predicament can be an opportunity to learn and grow, but most importantly, the first step is to identify the problem accurately. As a Clinical Psychologist, I am passionate about helping my clients gain insight about their mental and emotional strengths and weaknesses through an objective and comprehensive evaluation by using standardized testing tools. Once all the information is gathered, I will offer extensive feedback regarding the results and make recommendations to help you or your child get the treatments or services needed. I work with ages 4 - 59.

Those navigating ASD, ADHD , Trauma, grief, & relationship issues.
We don’t always have control over the things that happen to us in life, but we do have control over how we choose to respond to them. When we know ourselves, and family patterns, & have the power to own our own history we are better equipped to meet these challenges & establish healthy patterns. I believe in a person-centered, integrative, strengths-based, bio-psychosocial approach. Regardless of your story, it is your own & as such you are the expert. My role is to help assist you along your journey by helping to facilitate a deeper understanding of who you are while reminding you of the importance of self-compassion & self-care.

Is your self-esteem, perfectionism and imposter syndrome keeping you from attaining your goals in life? I specialize in the treatment of adult Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ( ADHD ) and anxiety disorders.
My primary approach to treatment is cognitive- this simply means that I believe your thoughts matter. I believe that what you tell yourself has significant impact on how you feel and ultimately how you behave. Our work together will aim to modify entrenched and unhelpful thoughts that interfere with you living the life you want. Cognitive therapy is active, focused on skill development, and goal attainment. Our relationship is fundamental, as we both play a role in any successful therapeutic outcome. My priority is to create a safe, supportive, and accepting environment for us to work together.

I have been privileged to care about and help clients for nearly 30 years. I work to understand their particular pain and identify their patterns. Together, we honor those patterns for the benefits they provide and experiment with updating them to allow for conscious choice and a better fit to current circumstances and opportunities. Often, traumatic experiences have shaped the patterns they chose, and clients will again need to choose how to respond to the traumatic material and its reverberations. Clients may additionally be impacted by chronic illness, mood disorders/Bipolar, attentional issues/ ADHD , grief and loss.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
