I work with teens and adults who identify as quirky/nerdy, highly-intelligent, introverted, highly-sensitive, or as having ADHD or Autism (or some combination of these). Those with these traits often share something: a sense of outsider-ship, of not quite belonging. This can lead to loneliness, shame, isolation, depressions, self-loathing--all that fun stuff.  I, myself, have 3 or 4 of the above traits, AND was homeschooled on top of it, so my own sense of outsider-ship was crowned with awkward homeschooler social skills :) Working, both on self-acceptance, and feeling like I belong, is something I enjoy sharing with my clients.

Do I have bipolar? Am I on the right medication? Should I take a break from work? How do I manage difficult relationships?

I have worked with clients diagnosed with Autism, ADHD , depression, anxiety, behavioral health issues, and family issues.
Currently accepting new clients! I believe that every person has the right to be treated with individual care. Because we are all unique, what works for one person may not work for the next. I like to approach helping you with a fresh lens every time, getting to know you, and finding which therapeutic approach to best help your situation. Building a relationship of trust and openness is the most important part to therapy, as well as creating an atmosphere where you feel safe and secure in your journey. Maybe you’ve done this before, and maybe this is your first time in therapy; I want to find what works best for you.

If you're looking for help to understand and navigate ADHD traits in your life, you've come to the right place.
Thanks for viewing my page and profile. I became a licensed counselor in the state of Washington in 1998, have spent thousands of hours over the past 20+ years listening to and learning from my clients. I still love the work. No matter how discouraged, confused, or frustrated you feel, I firmly believe that you already have everything you need within you and that the journey to a more fulfilling life is a process of discovery - about unpacking your truth, uncovering your strengths, and learning to be more conscious of the moment-to-moment choices that shape your experience.

I specialize in issues related to relationships, attachment, abuse, loss, emotional regulation, anxiety, ADHD , difficult family life & life transitions.
People come to therapy for a variety of reasons: recognizing the need for change in their lives, facing changes difficult to accept, learning how to more effectively communicate or parent, or the need for an unbiased perspective. It can understandably be difficult to reach out for help regarding sensitive issues. I respect the courage it takes to set the intention for change & the effort involved in finding someone you feel comfortable with & can trust. I love this field of study & care about doing my best for my clients. My work with couples, individuals, teens & families, utilizes techniques garnered from 24 years of practice.

ADHD Therapists
Some children and adults with ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on tasks at school or work and may daydream frequently. Children with ADHD may become disruptive, defiant, or have trouble getting along with parents, peers, or teachers. Children who struggle with hyperactivity and impulsivity, in particular, often have behavioral challenges that can be difficult for adults to manage. Adults, on the other hand, may be more likely to report feeling restless or fidgety; if they struggle with impulsivity, they may make rash decisions that adversely affect their life. For both children and adults, executive functioning (planning, emotional regulation, and decision-making) is often affected as well. Many children and adults display either hyperactive or inattentive symptoms of ADHD, but it’s also possible for both sets of symptoms to exist together, in what is typically called combined type ADHD.

If you're looking for a King County ADHD therapist, these professionals provide ADHD therapy and counseling in King County.
