Hi, I'm Sophie. I am a student in a clinical psychology PhD program with an emphasis on Depth psychology, which focuses on the effects our unconscious has on our everyday lives, emotionally and somatically. There is so much to learn about ourselves, and I am honored to get the invitation to be a small part of that journey for others.

Hello, I am accepting new adult clients! Are you, or you and your partner, feeling emotional distress? Do you struggle with negative beliefs about yourself, struggling to communicate or truly understand each other? Do you feel stuck in the same painful patterns? Are you having difficulty concentrating in normal everyday life or have put the things that matter to you aside? Do you feel lost and wonder if you will ever feel like yourself again?
Do your friends or family care, but don't know what to do? If you said yes to any of these questions, you are not alone. People find me when their old coping strategies stop working.

I am uniquely qualified to serve clients struggling with depression, stress/anxiety (GAD, health anxiety, social anxiety, and perfectionism), relationships (insecure attachment, codependency, abuse, divorce, and pre-marital/marital), anger management, body image, identity, and parenting/coparenting, and trauma.
As a Christian, I practice biblical counseling. God's word doesn't always tell us what we want to know, but it does tell us what we need to know for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16). My clinical approach is Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral. Both modalities reflect the application of the Gospel.

Serving people for 30 years in various settings (hospitaIs, schools, outpatient), I have learned what skills, attitudes, and attributes contribute to our sense of well-being and purpose and what boosts our confidence in handling life challenges. Youth as well as adults will understand the connection between feelings, behaviors and thoughts and modify those that don't work well for them. Whether a crisis, divorce, or relationship problem at home or school, difficulty being the parent or partner you wish, or self-sabotaging behaviors, I will help you harness these situations, and use them as springboards to becoming the person you most want to be.

I help people find their voice, set boundaries that actually stick, and stop apologizing for protecting their peace. Therapy with me is about clearing out the mental clutter, unlearning unhelpful patterns, and figuring out what you actually want, not what you’ve been told you "should" want.
I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can show up as your real self (no perfect answers required). I’ll support you, challenge the thoughts that keep you stuck, and use humor along the way, because growth doesn’t have to feel so serious. I work with adults and adolescents.

You may feel overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or stuck—like you need change but nothing you've tried has worked so far. You’re overthinking, feeling stuck, struggling to focus, and running on empty. Maybe you’re facing a divorce, major life change, or relationship stress. From the outside you might look “fine,” but inside you feel disconnected, irritable, lost, or scared. You’re tired of pushing through and wondering why you still feel this way, even when you're self aware and doing your best to cope. You want clarity, calm, and real support to help you feel like yourself again.

Immediate openings, morning, afternoons, evening and weekends! We are not individuals who are broken that need to be fixed, we are humans having a human experience and we are constantly in a state of change that have sometimes served us & sometimes not. People who seem to work well with us are ones motivated to make changes and comfortable with awareness of self. We are a group practice so if I can not individually meet your needs, I work with several different providers to get you to where need to be as quickly as possible.

Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.
When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.
What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.
How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
