I also enjoy working with those dealing with adoption issues, women's issues and faith issues.
It is my hope that clients gain from counseling specific tools they can apply to their lives to feel better equipped in dealing effectively with their life circumstances. I tailor my counseling to the needs of the client, using various therapeutic techniques to provide clients skills such as communication, emotion management, coping, parenting, etc. I incorporate an educational component, presenting information to enhance knowledge regarding various issues that clients face. I often include homework to make use of the time between sessions. When desired by the client, I approach their circumstances from a biblical perspective.

Though I am committed to helping people with all manner of personal challenges, I am particularly adept at helping people suffering from depression/anxiety, clients confronting women's issues , and couples therapy.
All people experience problems and at times we all need someone that we can trust to assist us with those challenges. As a therapist, my approach is accepting, empathetic, and flexible, and I strive to form a relationship with my clients that is built on trust and respect. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients, together identifying the growth and change that they desire for their lives. I work to help my clients uncover their internal resources and strengths and expand their understanding of their experiences in order to empower them to make the changes that they desire.

Life is difficult (M. Scott Peck). I remember reading that in his book and thought yes, it is! And sometimes we don’t have the tools to manage the difficult times or move through and beyond them. That is why I became a therapist because life is difficult and sometimes, we need support and help to move forward. My goal is to establish a safe environment where adults and children can take the time to process difficulties in life. Through this process you will find your strengths, develop new ways of coping and discover new insights. I enjoy working with both children and adults in a variety of areas, including childhood and adult tra

I'm experienced working with minority communities including working with women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ clients. Minority groups, and couples, particularly those at the intersections of gender, race, and sexual orientation, are often underrepresented in fields of work such as business, tech, and entrepreneurship. I believe therapy should be a safe and non-judgmental space that empowers individuals to be able to push their own limits and views of themselves, in all aspects of their personal and professional lives. Being able to embrace oneself and each other is one of the strongest things a person can learn to do.

My own experience has taught me that pain is a gift. Pain awakens us to the areas of our lives that are in need of attention, balance and healing. I offer people a safe and nurturing environment to explore the interior landscapes of their lives and discover hope and strength as they move toward the healing solutions they are looking for. I view the process of therapy as a sacred journey and enter the journey with the utmost respect, humility and compassion.

My ideal clients are motivated to explore the origin of unhelpful patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior. I am a certified clinical trauma specialist and primarily work with adults and adolescents who have experienced adversity and/or trauma. I believe we are all worthy and deserving of love and understanding ourselves and those we love can be one of life's biggest challenges and one of life's biggest rewards. It is my honor, as a therapist to create a warm, nonjudgmental, and supportive space where clients can feel seen and heard within their own unique circumstances. We will explore unseen messages and hidden feelings to identify and gently challenge patterns and protective habits that are no longer effective or helpful. I treasure working with couples and individuals as they reclaim themselves, find clarity, and gain more meaning to their lives & their relationships.

I'm taking new clients ages 9 years old to 99! I also see couples and conduct family counseling too. In all situations, I love to see clients grow and change, living life to the fullest and thriving in relationships and all life circumstances. When people come to see me, they notice that I care, and want to understand their life story. Together, we discover that our lived experiences have shaped how we think about the world. Using a trauma and cognitive focused lens, we navigate those experiences in a safe way to encourage healing and growth.

I believe the purpose of therapy is to support people in gaining personal insight, understanding of others perspectives, and integrating this information while planning new and improved responses and courses of action. As we are able to discover and express our hidden emotions and create new relational responses we then have the potential to change a distressed and rigid relationship into a more secure, safe and satisfying one. My commitment is to devote my full attention to you during our time together and to work with you as supportively, competently, responsibly, and professionally as I am able.

I am passionate about working with individuals and couples. Navigating live's challenges can be really intimidating amidst the stressors of life, especially when they all start piling up and ways you used to cope before stop working. Before giving up, try seeking help from a qualified professional and learn new ways of understanding and interacting with your environment. By identifying and working through barriers, new patterns can be learned, and healing experiences can be found. Resources can be gained and emotional resilience can be improved. You can find the harmony you desire within your life, and it starts here.

Women's Issues Therapists

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?

Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?

As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?

Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
