I help people that are feeling anxious and depressed, feel less anxious and depressed. Your mind replays the past and dwells on the future, sending you into panic or making it hard to get out of bed. Your stomach is queasy, your neck is tight, and you feel like you can never quite relax. It feels like others don't see or trust the challenges you face and the effort you actually put in to just get by. You feel uncomfortable in your own skin and unaccepted wherever you go and crave a place that you can truly be yourself, un-judged and appreciated for your unique ideas and qualities. Navigating unexpected situations or traumas, dealing with anxiety /depression can overwhelm our sense of being present in the moment and we may feel trapped inside our feelings. Sometimes difficulties have been present since childhood, left unattended or pushed down repeatedly over the years. Some clients come to counseling seeking ways to deal with a specific trauma, domestic violence, grief, loss, anger, or other distressing emotions, leaving someone feeling isolated, stuck, and without resources. Taking the next step, asking for help inside of counseling, brings you closer to the destination of recovery.

Seeking counseling can be one of the most difficult decisions a person can make. It is also one of the bravest decisions. Day to day life is stressful, and at times, life tosses us a curveball. My goal is to help you identify your strengths, and help you navigate through the stresses and transitions that many people struggle with. You are not alone, and I am so glad that you are here. They want to get beyond feelings of anxiety , fear, depression, shame, guilt and worthlessness, and embrace their inner authentic, powerful selves- embracing the grace, power and strength that enabled them to survive challenging circumstances in the past. Oftentimes we seek out therapy because components in our lives are causing us significant distress and disrupt our ability to function effectively and feel happiness. I ask clients who come into therapy to bring with them an open attitude, a willingness to explore their life perspectives and their relationships with others, that they may experience true change and healing. This journey towards emotional maturity often involves a certain amount of discomfort and pain before the healing and change can occur. I provide a warm, trusting, safe space to assist people so that they may continue that journey.

Manny has nearly 20 years of experience in the mental health field. He specializes in treating trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, LGBTQ issues and marriage and family conflict. He is trained in a wide variety of therapeutic approaches including CBT, Psychodynamic Approaches, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). He tailors and paces the treatment according to your needs and goals so you can achieve results quickly.

In addition to infant mental health services, I also work with adults and adolescents who are struggling with issues related to stress, anxiety , self-harm, and self-esteem. I have training in many treatment modalities including trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.

Ashley Turner, MSW, LICSW, SUDP-T, is a Clinical Psychology PsyD doctoral student at Antioch University Seattle. She is in her third year of training, which includes enhancing one’s understanding of clinical evidence-based interventions and competency in psychological assessments. Ashley received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Williams College and a certificate in addiction counseling from Spokane Falls Community College. Ashley received a Master of Arts in Social Work and a certificate in trauma from Boston College. Ashley has experience working in outpatient facilities, hospitals, and colleges.
