It can be a challenge to find a counselor that is not only a good fit, but has the knowledge to help with the concerns you are bringing to therapy. I work with both both children and adults in my practice and have spent the past 10 years specializing in treating depression, anxiety, behavioral concerns in children, and trauma/PTSD using evidence-based treatments. Clients have described me as straight-forward as well as taking the time to understand their experience.

After 15 years of providing mental health services, I've helped individuals heal from trauma while continually refining an integrative approach grounded in EMDR, parts work, attachment, and nervous system regulation. Today, I bring that experience into consultation and supervision, helping therapists navigate complex cases, move through stuck points in EMDR, strengthen their clinical skills, and deepen their clinical judgment. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to each clinician's strengths, style, and the clients they serve.

Many of us have known heartache that doesn't seem to end, feeling down without always knowing why, or persistent worry. It's my life's passion to join people who have struggled with these experiences and help them find clarity, fulfillment, and joy. I'm excited to work with clients as they dig deeper into understanding the "why" behind their choices and motivations, so they can ultimately feel alive and vibrant no matter what they face.

Not accepting new clients at this time - I believe that people make sense in the context of their story and that the key to healing is within each one of us. My approach to therapy has evolved over the years as I began understanding that what most people are looking for is someone who can help them with a deeper understanding of how they became exactly who they are today.

Do you want a support system and help with your mental well-being without feeling like you are dumping on your friends? Do you want to confide in someone and explore your inner world without the expectation of reciprocity? Do you want to be fully honest with someone who will be non-judgmental and objective? Friends are amazing, but a therapist will help you find your own answers and the focus is YOU. I want you to feel cared for and supported AND I want you to hear new perspectives from a theoretically informed approach. I'm here when you're ready. Please note that I do not bill insurance companies but keep my rates accessible.

I specialize in perinatal mental health, but enjoy supporting parents all along the spectrum of their journey to growing a family.
I view my work through a psychodynamic, attachment-focused, internal family systems lens - meaning that I see our time together to be both about what's happening right now and the multiplicity of past experiences that have led you here. We will give a voice to the symptoms that brought you and help you begin to name and explore the deeper "why do I do this?"

My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely safe to express yourself, but also challenged. I believe therapy is not only a place to vent, but also a place where you're actively growing, putting in real work, and moving toward the life and version of yourself you actually want. If you sense that the way you've been approaching life challenges isn't quite working anymore, you're in the right place. I bring warmth, openness, and a nonjudgmental presence to our sessions. I'm here to do more than just listen - I'm here to help you get to where you want to be.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
