Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists in Fircrest, WA
You have quietly suffered for too long. You have faced a pain that is so dark and deep you haven’t thought about it in years. You’ve managed to bury the trauma enough to carry on with your life. People look at you and think, “They have got it all together.” But the pain is starting to surface. The past is catching up, and you can’t outrun it this time. You’re ready now. You’re ready to face the darkness and experience true healing. The good news is, you don’t have to face it alone.

Limited daytime openings available. Anxiety, depression, self doubt, and daily stress can be so pervasive. Does the stress of daily life feel anxiety provoking and overwhelming? Are your job, relationships or friendships feeling stressful? Perhaps feeling stuck or unsettled is becoming a daily reality. It may feel like it's getting harder to thrive and telling people “no” feels hard or unmanageable. You may feel like you are alone, isolated and that you can’t talk with the people in your life about these issues. I want to help you figure some of this out, to learn to love and thrive in life again.

I love working with teens who are navigating difficult life transitions—whether that’s adoption-related identity questions, sexual trauma, mood or anxiety disorders, or simply feeling unsure about where they fit. Adolescence can feel confusing and overwhelming, especially when you don’t have clear language for what you’re experiencing. You don’t have to have it all figured out before you walk through the door. Once you’re in the room, therapy becomes a collaborative process. Together, we explore what’s going on and discover how I can best support your growth. My role isn’t to label you—it’s to help you understand yourself a bit more

I draw from IFS, ACT, systemic, and dialogical therapies depending on your needs.
It can be hard to human. For queer, neurodivergent, plural, and other marginalised folks it means living with a world not built for us. You may be trying to function while burdened with trauma, overwhelm, or burnout. You may have been taught to shame or to disconnect from yourself. You deserve a space where you can finally breathe, explore your authenticity, drop masks, and heal your wounds. It's important that we also include work to address how systemic oppression and social norms impact you and uncover the gifts you bring to the world. We'll make space space for growth and joy along with hurt.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
