Do you feel exhausted trying to figure out how to support your child or teen? Maybe you’ve tried all the parenting tips, read the books, and still feel like something’s missing. You’re not alone. Today’s kids and teens are facing big emotional challenges—and so are the families who love them. I work with children ages 2 and up, teens, and their caregivers to uncover what’s really going on. I offer a warm, creative, and collaborative space where kids build emotional strength and coping tools—and where parents feel supported, empowered, and involved every step of the way.

Entering therapy can be both daunting and exciting. It usually means something in your life isn’t working quite right, and it also means you are ready to make a change. My goal is to help you discover your own strengths and resources in order to live a life of greater purpose, connection, and joy. We all have a natural tendency to move toward healing and growth, but sometimes painful emotions, negative thoughts, or stressful life events interfere with this natural process. Working together, we can process and release painful emotions and experiences that have kept you stuck.

Do you experience anxiety in your body, causing you to feel tense, panicky, or disconnected from your authentic self? Do you sometimes feel out of control and struggle to manage stressful situations? You may even avoid certain situations or endure them with intense discomfort, leaving your energy depleted. Perhaps you are concerned about your child’s or teen’s anxiety and its affect on their school or home life. Though anxiety is often addressed through traditional talk therapy, a more holistic approach can build confidence to navigate life’s ups and downs with greater ease.

We’re not taught to seek out alternative stories that shape our lives—richer, more complex ones that speak to our values, hopes, and strengths. Instead, we’re often comparing ourselves to popular ideas about what is “normal” or “good enough.” Therapy can help us pause those comparisons and create space to hear our own voice. I work with clients who struggle with amplifying that voice; maybe you've had to silence it over time, or you've never felt truly in touch with it. Whether you're feeling lost or stuck in familiar patterns, therapy can offer new ways of seeing yourself and the stories that have shaped your life.

I am passionate about working with life transitions and those moments of, “this is not where I want to be, or planned to be in life, so now what?"

I often use a mix of psychodynamic, relational, somatic, and CBT therapy in my practice.
Therapy for Firefighters & First Responders: Trauma-Informed Care with Real-World Understanding. You face situations most people never will — and you're expected to return to "normal life" like nothing happened. As a firefighter or first responder, you're trained to stay calm in chaos, but that doesn't mean you're immune to stress, trauma, or burnout. If you're carrying more than you're comfortable with, you're not alone. I'm here to support the people who show up for everyone else. Whether you're dealing with critical incident stress, PTSD, relationship strain, anxiety, or you're just feeling worn down and disconnected.

I provide mindfulness-based, somatic, weight-neutral/HAES informed, LGBTQ+ affirming and exposure therapies.
I believe strongly in the inner capacity of all humans to grow and heal in mind, body, and spirit from trauma or barriers faced in life. Due to our interconnected nature, this healing capacity is deepened and broadened through the assistance and support of others. I seek to hold a safe space through the therapeutic relationship to allow for the development of greater understanding and appreciation of self. Through this process, people begin to heal, make meaningful changes and courageously act in ways that reflect their authentic self.

I weave science and spirituality to create a space for embodied, highly attuned healing and provide resourcing through experiential and somatic exercises to support you.
Hello! I specialize in Transformational EMDR therapy with individuals to support trauma processing and integration, growth, secure attachment to self and others, and living authentically. EMDR resolves distressing and triggering memories at the root. It is a full-body experience that reconnects us to our truth, vitality, clarity, and peace. Many clients resolve issues in months rather than years, as healing occurs at the speed of thought. This is transformational therapy that requires surrender to a period of intense change.

I also draw from Somatic Therapy and value cultural humility, social justice frameworks, strengths-based perspectives and trauma-informed approaches.
Everyone carries emotions, memories, and physical sensations from difficult experiences, and consequently there are parts of yo (i.e. behaviors, thought patterns, etc) that work very hard to help keep you safe. I welcome every part of you. Together we will hold space for your pain without rushing to distract, avoid or escape from it, and my goal is to help you access the active healing presence inside. I personally understand that being a POC poses many challenges in this country and seeking support from clinicians who don't look like you or talk like you makes it far more difficult. I see you and I'm here for you.

Somatic Therapists

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
