My counseling approach is grounded in anti-oppression and liberation. I believe that our identities, histories, and interactions with systems of power inform how we move through and experience the world, including our mental health. These parts of our makeup also contain wisdom and strength. I draw from feminist therapy, liberation psychology, and attachment theory, and body-based or somatic approaches including somatic awareness and somatic CBT.

Hi there, I'm Glaiza! Feeling stuck or weighed down? You don’t have to face it alone. I support clients in working through anxiety, self-doubt, and transitions with warmth and curiosity. My aim is to help you feel steadier, more self-assured, and deeply connected—to who you are and the life you’re shaping. I aim to support you through the heavy moments that leave you feeling unsettled, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself or others. Together, we explore what lies beneath the surface and make more conscious choices. At times, I’ll gently challenge old patterns; at others, we slow down, feel, and soften into acceptance.

The first step in the therapy process is building a therapeutic relationship based on trust and compassion. I offer a down to earth approach that recognizes your struggles and your strengths. Growth occurs when we believe that we are truly accepted for who we are right now. When this happens, we are better equipped to see what we may want to hold onto and what we may want to shift. I will think creatively with you as this process unfolds and provide a safe place for you to think, feel and construct meaning of your experiences.

You may feel exhausted trying to keep everything together. Many of the clients I work with are navigating postpartum depression, infertility struggles, or the pressure of balancing work, relationships, and parenting. Some are new parents wondering how to give their baby the care they deserve while still managing their own needs. Others are women newly diagnosed with ADHD or adults struggling to focus at work or school. I also support teens, adults, couples, and families working through childhood trauma, social anxiety, or relationship communication challenges while trying to feel more steady in their lives.

In my experience, healing and transformation is a process of "unearthing" existing strengths, tools, and self-compassion that may have been lost through adverse experiences, trauma, or chronic mental health challenges. While learning new coping skills is important, I believe much of the medicine for healing our own wounds exists within us. I think good therapy requires a 'remembering' of the old gifts and integrating the 'new' tools. I believe that clients are the most valuable wisdom-holders in the therapy space. I hope to align with my clients to tap into their own inner wisdom to reach their goals, whatever those may be.

When I hear the words "ideal client," I immediately think about someone who is willing to change. This is someone who is wanting to work on themselves and is ready to take "personal inventory." Someone who is open, honest, and vulnerable with themselves and their therapist. A client who is willing to engage and participate in the process of bettering themselves. We can work on managing stress, day to day challenges, or learning coping skills. We will work together on a therapeutic approach that is right for you.
