Email for a quick reply. "You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated." - Maya Angelou. We all experience difficulties. When life gets complicated, when we are overwhelmed and just need some guidance to navigate our day, when we need to feel more in control, to feel comfortable and safe, counseling is helpful. Every one of us could use someone to listen, an opportunity to speak freely and be supported.

I have 7 years of experience specializing in somatic IFS, trauma & EFT couples work. I used to think change was a choice. Then I learned through witnessing clients, that change takes safety, and authenticity in relationship to ourselves, others & perhaps something greater than us. Through my personal journey of illness and recovery, I found great healing in meditation, movement, and spiritual integration. I believe in the mind, body and soul's capacity for change. I use the tools I've learned and growth I've seen in client's lives, to inform my work.

I believe that counseling is a practice of instilling, promoting, and maintaining hope and restoring the wounded person to wholeness. What inspired me to go into this field is a quote by Russell A. Barkley, “The children who need love the most, will always ask for it in the most unloving ways.” To some degree, this can be said about adults as well, so I dedicate what I do to helping individuals, no matter how they ask.

I have been practicing as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2001. I have enjoyed my work with many individuals and couples. It has been very rewarding and fulfilling when see progress and growth in each of my clients throughout the counseling process. My approach in therapy emphasizes improving clients' emotional awareness. Once clients are aware and understand the triggers of their emotions, they are now "in control" of their emotions instead of emotions controlling them.

My approach to counseling is existential phenomenological psychology. I work with individuals, teens, families and couples to achieve their therapeutic goals. I help clients make adjustments in their lives and ways of thinking to improve their ability to manage behaviors, emotions, and life circumstances. I find that counseling works best when I can meet a client wherever they are at in their journey to help them create positive changes through goal setting, goal tracking and positive therapeutic interaction and participation.

We base our evaluations on the individual. A specific diagnosis along with treatment recommendations is offered. Encountering issues with alcohol or other drugs does not necessarily warrant a diagnosis for chemical dependency. While in the process of recovery we help you determine your life goals and ambitions. It is easy to get "clean and sober" and it is difficult to stay "clean and sober". That's why you can count on us to walk with you on the journey of maintaining a life of sobriety and freedom.

Another day of life in all it's turmoil and wonder. We all have big feelings or no feelings, active minds strained conversations, tough times, and maybe hope that things could feel different. I’m here to help slow things down with you, to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and help you feel more steady, happier, less alone. I’m an Aussie psychologist who moved to Oregon in 2017. I am deeply experienced in working with couples and individuals. I also work with parents in building secure, attuned bonds with their children.

Therapy is a unique experience for each person, and I do my best to keep this in mind each time I meet with someone for the first time who has sought to begin that process with me. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety and stress, a lack of direction, a major life change, difficulties in your relationship or any other barrier to a life filled with satisfaction, meaning and purpose; I will meet you where you are at on that journey and work together with you on goals that you find most important.

I am particularly passionate about working with teens, college students, and adults struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, marriage problems, and parenting issues. As a first-generation Asian American born in the United States and raised in an Asian cultural heritage, I am especially committed to supporting individuals facing personal struggles related to cultural expectations and identity.

I work with adults who are used to holding it together, even when life feels heavy behind the scenes. You may be managing work, family, relationships, or major responsibilities while privately feeling anxious, burned out, disconnected, or unsure how much longer you can keep pushing through. Many of my clients are professionals, veterans, men, caregivers, and people navigating life transitions, trauma, depression, ADHD-related challenges, or stress that has become harder to carry alone.

My ideal client is a late-identified autistic or AuDHD adult—often a woman—who feels overwhelmed, misunderstood, or exhausted from years of masking. You may struggle with burnout, emotional intensity, shutdowns, sensory overload, or faith questions that feel hard to talk about. You want clarity, steadiness, and support that finally fits your brain. You want to understand yourself, move through life with less overwhelm, and build routines and relationships that feel safe, meaningful, and sustainable. I also work with parents on how to raise autistic children in autism affirming, nervous-system-regulating ways.

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
