I'm a licensed clinical psychologist and focus on treating adults, teens, and couples. My specialty now includes the treatment of Eating Disorders in addition to mood and anxiety disorders, anger management, and grief/loss recovery work. I also work with individuals struggling with relationship, career, and identity issues. While working with clients, I combine interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and system approaches to help change unhealthy patterns in emotions, thoughts, and relationships. I find that good therapy includes the discovery and building of strengths and opportunities for change. My work is a rare privilege. I enjoy it immensely! For more information please consult my professional website.

As a Jungian depth psychologist and dance/movement therapist I value authenticity, connecting with soul, the inner world, reconnecting body and soul, participating with curiosity in the flow of life, creativity, finding one's path, developing a compassionate inner witness, offering one's gifts, being present to what life brings.

In my practice I focus on teaching my clients ways build resilience to stress and get back a sense of stability and calm. If you value genuine emotional support, honest feedback, and new perspectives we might be a good match. I provide support for who have experience with expanded states of consciousness ( spontaneous awakenings, near death experiences, or therapeutic use of psilocybin, LSD). These experiences can provide tremendous opportunities for growth and healing, especially when guided with caring, competent support. My approach is kind, open-minded, grounded, and practical.

I am a seasoned therapist with a solid background of training in counseling psychology and I keep a very enthusiastic learning edge on perspectives and developments in psychotherapy. I can always find a way to generate an earnest and stimulative approach to working with clients in therapy. I believe that persons seeking therapy hope to find someone who has a mature range of life experience, sophisticated knowledge of the therapeutic process, a tested repertoire of counseling skills and the ability to provide the anticipatory guidance that fosters self-determination and meaningful life changes. I am confident I have these attributes.

I am a public speaker, licensed clinical psychologist and certified group psychotherapist (CGP) with expertise in group dynamics, trauma, and large group. I founded Therapist Beyond Borders to meet the needs of organizations whose leaders know they are stuck and seek culture change. We meet you where you are and will help you to understand the systemic dynamics that lead to the problem you observe, which is often the tip of the iceberg. Our team consists of interdisciplinary professionals most of whom know the experience of marginalization. I am a fellow of the AGPA and Dean of the National Group Psychotherapy Institute.

I am particularly interested in working with people struggling with the on going effects of adverse childhood experiences like abuse, neglect and loss; especially those of early childhood. Often people suffering from the painful effects of traumatic experiences have never really felt whole, known peace or felt truly acceptable. Much too often they blame themselves. Bouts of depression and anxiety are all too frequent. In therapy you undo the underlying causes of fear, shame and grief that drive depression, anxiety and dissociation. You learn to live a life that is meaningful, present focused and free from the shadows of the past.

My approach to therapy is relational, psychodynamic and humanistic. I view the counseling process as a collaborative and empathic relationship of communication, investigation, exploration, reflection and insight.
I believe it is the therapeutic relationship itself that is most important in creating the conditions for the deep exploratory work of psychotherapy, and discovering the possibility of self transformation.

I enjoy helping my clients find their unique strengths and building on them in a confidential and supportive setting. I feel it is important for people to gain understanding and insight into behavior patterns that are creating problems in life and learn how to change them. I also work with clients to enable them to find a satisfying work/life or school/life balance. I utilize cognitive behavioral and brief solution focused therapy.

I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth or change, whether it's easily identifiable or not. Sometimes this change occurs in tiny steps and sometimes it occurs in leaps and bounds. Other times it is difficult to even recognize that growth or change is possible and we may feel stuck, down, scared, confused, or frustrated. Together we will explore what growth or change may look like for you and how it can happen.

My practice is in neuropsychology, and I am specialized in evaluation, assessment, and diagnosis of neuropsychological conditions; I am not a practicing therapist. I work with those age 4-90+ to provide diagnostic clarity & outline treatment recommendations. Everyone has personal strengths and personal weaknesses, & we could all use a little help in certain areas. A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation allows me to identify cognitive strengths & weaknesses and better understand behavioral functioning & emotional functioning to get the widest, clearest picture of the individual as possible.

While a desire to find meaningful connection with self and others appears universal, the everyday experiences of life often hold quite the opposite. Trauma, betrayal, loss, addiction, big life changes (and we can go on and on), can contribute to a variety of mental health concerns, and perpetuate dynamics that are not life-giving. Such dynamics are hard to put into words, so you are left looking for a safe space to tell your story and gain more insight into what shaped you, what motivates you, and what supports patterns of thinking and behavior that no longer serve you.

“Shame can't survive being spoken: Shame needs secrecy, silence, and judgment to survive, but empathy can destroy it” (Brené Brown). Empathy and shame resilience are core to my practice. Perhaps you are thinking you don’t want to hide anymore; you are tired of feeling triggered; you feel hijacked by anxiety and depression. Clients can expect me to hold a safe but brave space where we explore these issues and unearth shame. From my own time in the client’s chair, I’m well acquainted with facing pain—and vulnerability hangovers. Not easy but worth it. I would be honored to sit with you and discover new possibilities found in healing.

As a black therapist, one of my key areas of focus is the intersectionality of mental health and race. People of color often face unique stressors and systemic barriers that can make mental health challenges much more prevalent. The stigma associated with seeking therapy within many communities of color can make it even more difficult to reach out for help. Consequently, I am dedicated to destigmatizing mental health conversations within these communities and ensuring culturally competent care for my clients
