I have room for a few new telehealth clients, with options of meeting in-person in the future on Whidbey Island.
Are you a creative, introspective adult ready to heal from trauma and reconnect with your inner strength? I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) and other techniques to help you explore the parts of yourself shaped by past experiences and develop a relationship with your Self. Together, we’ll work to ease anxiety, deepen self-understanding, and create balance between your emotional world and outer life. If you're seeking a compassionate, integrative approach to healing, let's connect and see if we’re a good fit.

Empowered Counseling for Mid-Life Women. On the outside, it looks like you have it all. You feel like you really shouldn’t have anything to complain about, right? You are there for everyone in your life who needs you…your partner, kids, parents, friends, charities, volunteer boards. Everyone can depend on you. Yet, you feel like you are not handling anything well and you don’t know why. You just don't feel like yourself anymore. You don’t know what the next chapter of your life looks like…and this one is almost over. What will you do? Who will you be?

I am happy to meet with you in person or by phone.
Anxiety, depression and other issues can take us off guard, blindsiding us by suddenly challenging our confidence, undermining our autonomy, and bringing to mind some of our most difficult experiences. It is common to assume these problems will go away on their own or if we just take a break. It is my experience that over time these problems reoccur in even more confusing and disorienting ways that might lead to crisis, leaving us feeling even more isolated and vulnerable. Sometimes the most difficult step is just asking for help, to place ourselves in a position of vulnerability.

My clients are multi-dimensional people - with physical, psychological and spiritual needs - who are doing the best they can to have a gratifying and meaningful life. My role as a therapist is to assist each person to expand their awareness of self and interactions with others, and to identify and change unsatisfying patterns and behaviors. Partners: When couples first start counseling, they often have a lot of anger, hurt, and sadness. Couples therapy is designed to find solutions to problems, express and let go of resentments, rebuild trust through good communication, and learn to live with different points of view.

I have limited in person walk and talk session availability from the NW area of Seattle.
Being a kid or young adult these days is tough. There are so many stressors and pressures that can create anxiety, self-doubt, and strained relationships. Feeling alone is a hard space to live, but having a supportive guide along the way can make all the difference- this is my goal in working with you. I support children, teens, and young adults with anxiety, grief, life transitions and more. Additionally I work individually with parents and/or adults. I work as a guide, teammate, and partner. Together we will find what works best for you. There is no one right way and pursuing change takes patience, perseverance, and partnership.

My work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and non-judgement, aiming to create a safe, creative, and collaborative space for exploration and healing. I believe therapy is a co-created process—one where we move at your pace, honoring both your strengths and your struggles. My approach is rooted in the belief that healing is not about fixing what’s “wrong,” but about reconnecting with what’s already whole within you. As a registered art therapist, I integrate expressive and creative methods alongside traditional talk therapy to help clients access insights and emotions that words alone can’t always reach.

As a clinical psychologist I work with clients who are attempting to change unrewarding or isolating patterns of relating to others, or struggling to modify unproductive thoughts or feelings. The process of therapy as I practice it relies on developing a trusting and collaborative relationship between client and therapist. It is in this atmosphere of support, encouragement and respect that areas of concern and patterns of behavior can be understood and changed. I work with both individuals and couples. I have advanced training in treating depression, helping couples work productively in relationships, modification of addictive behaviors, and cognitive assessment.

Hi, I'm Kara and I offer therapy sessions in-person & via telehealth in WA.
Do relationship or family issues feel overwhelming? Is it sometimes difficult to connect to your loved ones due to stress, conflict, or difficulty communicating? We all struggle sometimes. It can be easy for mental health to get put on the back-burner and for relationships to take second place to responsibilities. This is normal, but that doesn’t make it any less difficult. And if you find yourself here - there is hope. Building positive change takes effort, time, and collaboration. Marriage and Family Therapy can provide families and couples a space to come together, be vulnerable, take action, and process challenges.

I am currently accepting new clients and offer both in person and telehealth sessions.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has been working and training in the field for 14 years. I view psychotherapy as a collaborative process and tailor treatment to your specific goals. In doing so, I draw on an integrative theoretical approach that includes elements of contemporary psychodynamic and attachment theory, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy. I use these methodologies to treat adults who are presenting with a range of conditions, including mood and anxiety disorders; as well as those who want to work on relationship issues, identity development, loss and grief, and life transitions.

Oftentimes, we undermine our circumstances, feelings, and opinions. Society has changed our mindset into thinking trauma is “normal” and excusing it as an everyday struggle. The automatic responses of “I’m fine.” “I’m just tired.” “I had a rough home environment.” The hidden meaning behind those words often speaks volumes, even when you can’t recognize it at the time. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all but it can be viewed as An Art to Positive Change. Therapy is built on a relationship that is confidential, honest, and collaborative.
