I've spent 7 years in the mental health field, the last 3 years as a therapist, working with anxiety, identity concerns, relationship issues, family conflict, and major life transitions.
Some clients want clear strategies; others need space to talk before a plan makes sense. Both are welcome here. I want this to be a space where you don't have to perform wellness or pretend you have it together.

I am trained in EMDR and I have experience with trauma, anxiety, depression, familial issues, relationships, interpersonal relatedness, sexual abuse, cult and religious trauma, feelings of loneliness, and creative blocks.
Sometimes things happen in life that make it difficult to cope. Everyone deserves happiness and to overcome whatever it is that has made healing difficult. I have a passion for working with people who want to feel better and don't know how. I utilize EMDR as a modality to identify negative core beliefs, bolster coping, and process memories to help develop a framework for healing. I will help identify what the issues are and provide the tools to move forward using your strengths and resilience.

My style is warm, direct, and relatable — we talk like two real people, not like a therapist analyzing a patient.I pull from CBT, DBT skills, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed work, nervous-system regulation, relapse prevention, boundary work, and tangible habit change.

Many struggles—whether anxiety, relationship conflict, or the impact of past experiences—follow emotional patterns that repeat over time.
Many people try to solve problems by focusing only on behavior or communication. Often the deeper issue lies beneath the surface. I work with you first to address what feels overwhelming now so you can feel more steady, and then to understand the deeper experiences and ways of responding that continue to show up in stressful moments and in relationships.

My current focus is helping teens, young adults and adults, with a specialized focus on life transitions, self-esteem, anxiety, relationship issues, communication skills, & personal growth.
I believe having a judgment-free and safe space to share, helps foster the path toward healing and change. I view counseling as a collaborative process between counselor and client, which is why I integrate several theoretical styles, tailored to my clients’ needs and goals. Primarily my focus is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I also come from a Client Centered approach, meaning I believe that you are the expert in your life and I will act as a support and guide. Relationship building and being comfortable with one another is key and my goal is to make sure all my clients feel heard, understood, and welcome.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
