“The fundamental principle in care of the soul is that the soul needs tending. If we do not tend to things in their suffering, and decay, we risk living the life of the walking dead.” ~Thomas Moore. As I acquire experience as a therapist, it has become apparent that the therapeutic relationship between the counselor and the client is crucial to the success of the client. Counseling is based on trust and the professional connection, and through that connection, the counseling session becomes a co-creation that can unlock the client’s barriers to a fulfilling life.

My ideal clients are couples who are ready to do the work — whether they're navigating recurring conflict, emotional distance, or simply want a stronger foundation — and individuals who are ready to invest in themselves, whether they have clear goals or are still figuring out what they want. I work with people carrying anxiety, depression, or patterns that keep getting in the way of the life they want. I also have a soft spot for entrepreneurs and small business owners — I've been one — and understand the unique pressure that puts on relationships and mental health. If you're ready, I'd love to connect.

I help clients navigate the stuck places, whether it's anxiety, loss, relationship strain, or life transitions.
Come as you are. Let’s begin there. Maybe life feels too loud. Maybe something shifted - slowly or suddenly - and now nothing seems to fit quite right. Or maybe you’ve been stuck in a loop for so long that even hope feels out of reach. Here, we slow things down. Together, we make room for the truth of what hurts and the quiet pull of what matters. We’ll pay close attention to the story that brought you here - past, present, and everything in between - including how your relationships, patterns, and context shape what you carry. This work isn’t about rushing to fix you. It’s about returning to yourself, with care.

I specialize in treating post -traumatic stress brought on by past physical and sexual abuse, toxic relationships, painful childhood experiences, grief, military related trauma, as well as other traumas that are impacting your current day to day life.
Trauma can get stuck in the body. Throughout time, that trauma wreaks havoc on our physical and emotional being causing a myriad of health problems. Because trauma is stored differently than other stressors, it demands a specific therapeutic approach. As you may have experienced in past therapy, talking about trauma is often ineffective, and revisiting those memories can often worsen your situation. This can lead to relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, hopelessness, and unhealthy coping mechanisms. Together, we can find a way to move past that trauma and live a life free of pain, and filled with peace.

I aim to cultivate a therapy relationship that merges lived, desired, and present experiences with a long-developed capacity for understanding trauma. Clinicians are all unique. For me, it is an honor to support others living fully integrated lives as a temporary human diary. I am the proud witness of laughter, tears, triumphs, and perhaps (too many, these days) puzzles. But I do enjoy a puzzle, goal-oriented people, and if you don't quite fit into mainstream... you're in the right place.

Are you struggling with the loss of a loved one, the loss of the life you thought should have been, or even the loss of self?
I am primarily an EMDR and ACT therapist. However, I draw on several evidence-based therapeutic interventions. I work somatically; I believe in the healing power of nature; I'm curious, not directive; and I bring authenticity (and sometimes humor) to the therapeutic space I hold. My style is flexible to your needs, and I will meet you where you are at.

Welcome. Perhaps you know exactly why you're here. Perhaps you're contemplating. It may be healing from past trauma, shaping your anxious energy into something productive, envisioning your days without the weight of depression, searching your soul for connection to something greater, restoring relationships, evicting those critical thoughts you keep thinking about yourself/others, coping effectively with the ridiculous amount of stress out there, spiritual development, or tackling that “thing” that keeps holding you back. My therapeutic style balances understanding of where you're at with keeping you moving forward.

The relationships that we put so much work into with those that we love are often the same relationships that cause the most hurt. Feelings of disappointment, distress, hurt, anxiety, and depression are part of our life experience- but we don’t have to stay there. The choice is yours to make. I have learned through life experience that crisis events happen, problems arise, and change is really difficult, but it is so worth it!

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
