You will experience mindfulness and compassion in our sessions together.
We are accepting new clients. I incorporate a range of evidence-based strategies from a person centered, trauma informed, and integrative lens to aid in meeting your unique needs. This means I aim to empower individuals to make their own choices about aims for therapy and the pace. This also means I avoid pathologizing behaviors and feelings that could be the result of a traumatic experience. I am passionate about setting the intention at every session that you are the expert of your own life and you are teaching me. I also set my intention to be non-judgmentally compassionate at each interaction.

I incorporate art therapy and mindfulness into my practice (if desired) to deepen the connection between mind, body and soul.
I provide individual therapy for college students, young adults, and adults in Washington State (telehealth). I work with individuals who are experiencing life transitions, burnout, anxiety, depression, day-to-day stress, relationship difficulties, and those who are family planning. My goal is to create a calm, grounding, and safe environment for you to feel comfortable while working toward changing behavioral patterns that are inhibiting you from living your best life. I will help explore and heal the parts of you that may feel unaligned, and work to improve your relationship with yourself and the world around you.

How can we change and grow? SENSING anxiety, stress, fear, and knowing that "something" NEEDS to be addressed and made better is often the start to being more alive. Getting to a higher living and performance level; developing a balancing mindfulness ; solving complex problems; working toward life or career transitioning; and working with people who feel "stuck" and are looking for new direction are all parts of my focus as Coach. Comments I’ve received: "You really 'get' me." "I could not have handled this crisis without you." "You challenge me to do better, and hold me accountable." "Thank you for hearing me!" "Fabulous."

My specialties include cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness , solution-focused and canine-assisted therapies.
How many of these profiles have you read through that sound the same? A few words and a picture are not enough to distinguish the best therapist for you. But I'm glad you're reading anyway and starting this overwhelming process. I will try to give a glimpse into why and how I provide therapy. I work extensively with people struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions and relationships. No matter what your struggle, therapy needs to be a place that you feel at ease while exploring life's many complexities. If you don't feel comfortable, my specialties simply don't matter. I even have a therapy dog to help foster comfort.

I use mindfulness and self- compassion to support clients to connect back to their inner wisdom to reclaim their true power and agency.
As a bilingual and bicultural Spanish speaking therapist I have a passion to work with Latinx community. I believe it is very important to understand a client's background, and belief system from a cultural and social perspective. I have experience supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, life transitions and parenting challenges. I work with adults, children and their parents/caregivers. People need a space where they can feel listened and safe to tell stories of pain and trauma. But also, a place where someone believes in them and can be an ally in their path to find their authentic self.

I help people whose anxiety feels out of control. What if you could learn how to soothe yourself during distressing times and feel more in control of your emotions? Sometimes, the best solution for anxiety is to get help from a supportive and skilled therapist who knows how to guide you towards a calmer and more fulfilling life. I can help you focus on what you have control of during this uncertain time where so much is out of our control.

I draw from evidence-based therapy models, including sex therapy, The Gottman Method, and mindfulness .
Healthy relationships provide a nourishing, supportive connection that allows those in the relationship the safety and freedom to love each other and themselves well, and it can feel lonely, confusing, and heartbreaking when your relationship feels otherwise. I work with individuals, couples, and romantic partnerships who are experiencing relationship difficulties or general mental health concerns (depression, anxiety, trauma, loss). Relationship difficulties often include poor communication, conflict, distance, codependence, wanting different things, working through a breach of trust, such as infidelity, and sexual concerns.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behavior through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviors and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioral habits.
