I enjoy working with anyone who suffers from anxiety, depression, grief and loss, complex medical issues, or addictions.
I know it is not always easy to ask for help and that many people look for more concrete solutions to their problems. But, as one who has turned to therapy several times in my life, I can attest to the sense of peace that you can get from speaking to someone who is there just to listen to you! I seek to offer a judgment-free space for you to be yourself.

My therapeutic approach focuses on being a partner in helping to guide the client to increase self-awareness and find what approaches and tools work best for them. Building a strong and trusting relationship between the counselor and client is the foundation of my therapeutic approach. When I engage in therapy with clients I do it with the intention and belief that everyone deserves a space to be heard and met with empathy. Focusing on a client's strengths and intersections of all that makes up their identity helps to personalize the therapy experience in an authentic way.

For others, it arrives through loss, whether the death of someone loved, anticipatory grief, or losses that don't fit familiar categories, and the questions of meaning and mortality it raises.
In therapy, we'll explore your story, identify your strengths, and develop practical ways to move forward. My approach is thoughtful and grounded in real conversation, drawing on your values and resilience. I'm currently pursuing additional training in grief and bereavement, and welcome clients carrying losses of every kind.

Life can feel heavy—whether it’s anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, or just feeling stuck.
I offer counseling that holds both practical tools and space for faith. Together we’ll work through what’s weighing on you and move toward healing and healthier connections—with yourself, others, and God. My goal isn’t to “fix” you but to walk with you in the process of growth and restoration.

Hi - I am so glad you are here, reading my profile. You are researching ways to process the stuff of life. Your life. It would be my honor to be your companion on the journey of discovering what would be your best life. Often what brings people to therapy is a problem they have been coping with for a long time and they want to bring new ideas to that issue or problem. Uncomfortable emotions like anxiety, anger and sadness usually get our attention to look deeper into the issues of our lives. Processing these issues in therapy can ease the discomfort and lead to a more fulfilled life as you discover what is most important to you.

My specialties: Loss & grief, life transition, traumas, parenting, couples/marriage counseling, ADHD, PTSD, depressions and anxieties.
I perceive life as a journey, consisting of searching meaning and coping: Meaning in different roles and aspects of life motivates us to move forward; coping is strategies to get there from here. However, at different life stages, we often got stuck because of different reasons. Thus, either we no longer can see the life meaning(s) and/or our coping strategies are no longer effective. We are likely stuck under these circumstances, which leads to sufferings. I believe that counseling is a catalyst to facilitate the needed changes & adjustments to get unstuck and to have a meaningful life again.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
