Using clear, measurable goals along with practical skills development, I diagnose and treat an array of issues: Life Transitions, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Loss, Bipolar I & II, Mood Swings, Perfectionism, PTSD,
Relationship
issues, Career/Job issues, Work/Life Balance, Self Esteem, Stress and Stress-Related issues, and Trauma.
**NEW CLIENTS - Please email me** No one deserves to live in pain. For therapy to work, you need three things: curiosity about yourself and your interactions with others, an authentic connection with your therapist, and concrete, practical tools and skills to promote real and lasting change. My job is to facilitate an understanding of what is causing you pain and getting in your way of creating your best life. As your therapist, I don’t “just listen.” I use an integrative approach, combining several modalities to create the most effective treatment for each client. I practice remote therapy with individual adults.

He has extensive experience treating anxiety and depression, trauma, impulse-control disorders, individuals in life transitions, with
relationship
or sexual issues, and sport performance issues.
Tyson is a tele-health therapist who is passionate about working with people who find themselves in a place where they have suffered enough and desire true change. Therapy is a process that reveals the bright light within every person that is so often obstructed by pain and egoic defenses. He believes in the healing power of relationships that enable us to feel seen, soothed, loved and safe and that the extent to which a person has not experienced this, or may have experienced just the opposite, can sometimes reveal the need to grieve loss. On the other side of this grief is joy, peace and ultimately, real freedom.

I work with individuals and
couples
on healing from depression, anxiety, the escalation of a downward cycle of infidelity, out of control sexual behavior, and substance abuse.
I help individuals struggling with feelings of emptiness and despair to make sense of destructive decisions and to repair broken relationships. Whether we were hurt in our younger years, in our marriage or other relationships, we all experience heartache. At times we may find ourselves stuck, unable to move through or past certain experiences and it is in these phases of life that feelings of emptiness, or the experience of shame, or the quiet desperation to feel alive again, consume us. When these experiences are not understood and cared for, they often lead to poor decisions and ruptured relationships.

My doctoral research focused on the causes of binge eating and identified particular emotions and
relationship
issues that individuals who binge eat frequently share.
I work with adults age 25 and older who have issues related to binge eating, compulsive overeating, body image, and weight. Many of my patients are also experiencing depression and anxiety. We work together to identify and prioritize the problems you are experiencing and work toward finding realistic solutions. I consider myself a
partner
in your recovery.

We all long for intimate human
relationship
but for many of us, we can't seem to shake this dull aching loneliness that resides in the pit of our souls. However, the inherent human need for meaningful relationships has remained elusive. Often, it feels easier to isolate than to face the intolerable reality. We have become experts at stifling our needs and desires. But when we enter into the presence of another, when we begin to tell our stories of heartache and pain, healing begins. We need a witness to our grief, someone to join alongside us as we lament. Above all, we need a place to experience belonging.

I work with adult individuals of all ages and
couples
, using several therapeutic approaches in order to best meet your needs and goals.
Healing, growth, and change. Are you wondering if these common outcomes of therapy are actually possible for you, or if therapy works at all? Maybe you have a different set of questions. Can someone really help me overcome this dark depression or intense anxiety? Am I the only one feeling like this? Can our
relationship
rebound after this betrayal? What's wrong with me/him/her/them/us? Why can't they just be happy for me? Questions like these are worthy to be asked and take a great deal of courage to seek the answers. You don't have to do this alone.

I have been working with individuals and
couples
since 1978. I love what I do and I believe my clients know it. I also believe they feel the respect I have for them. I know it takes courage to ask for help, especially when feeling vulnerable. All of us, at some point, experience painful life circumstances or
relationship
difficulties--usually accompanied by symptoms of depression and/or anxiety. At times we know our lives are not what they could be, but in spite of all our best efforts we may feel stuck.

Healthy relationships provide a nourishing, supportive connection that allows those in the
relationship
the safety and freedom to love each other and themselves well, and it can feel lonely, confusing, and heartbreaking when your
relationship
feels otherwise. I work with individuals,
couples
, and romantic partnerships who are experiencing
relationship
difficulties or general mental health concerns (depression, anxiety, trauma, loss).
Relationship
difficulties often include poor communication, conflict, distance, codependence, wanting different things, working through a breach of trust, such as infidelity, and sexual concerns.

I work with individuals and

/families that are finding that what they are processing in their lives are no longer serving them. Whether it be for recent life transitions, anxiety, PTSD, or depression; whatever path or experiences you have provides the right tools and solutions for what you want to do next in life. Part of my role is to shed light on what is working, what is not working. Together, what you share and express with me is part of identifying what solution(s) may be best for you and how to align those solutions by integrating them into your lifestyle.

I specialize in working with clients who have a variety of concerns such as stress, depression, life transitions, anxiety, and
relationship
issues.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who believes in the resilience of the human spirit. Living in society can seem chaotic and often feeling heard by others may seem impossible, yet we yearn for love and harmony. Too often, we wind up distancing ourselves because it may seem easier, but then the result is feelings of alienation and loneliness. We add to these feelings of loneliness by erecting barriers between ourselves and others which only perpetuate the problem. Therapy can offer a means of releasing energy so that barriers are removed permitting new possibilities for a more content existence.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
