Your story matters. Peoples’ stories can get messy and I am not afraid to sit in that mess with my clients. I use Narrative Therapy to help clients see the power of their own story and allow me into that narrative to help redefine the messier or more broken parts. I also use
Acceptance
and Commitment Therapy (
ACT
) to help clients pinpoint what they value most about their story and work toward
acceptance
and commitment in taking action steps toward their goals.

My areas of expertise are Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA),
Acceptance
Commitment Therapy (
ACT
), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).
Creating an engaged therapeutic relationship is where we start. I became a therapist because I believe in the power of relationships. Moved by my own experiences, I wanted to guide others to push past perceived limitations, obstacles, and fear to live a full and meaningful life. We all have the ability to grow, heal, and move forward. I have over 20 years of experience providing individual and group therapy, focusing on parent coaching, family systems work, and navigating depression and anxiety. I have sat across and heard many stories of loss and courage with an open heart - let's work together to explore yours.

Dr. Taylor has significant experience working with individuals with addiction, trauma, infidelity, and chronic pain or illness impacting sexuality. She understands how one’s life can change in the blink of an eye, and how goals and values can shift when life does. It is during these times that individuals, couples, and/or families, can experience varying degrees of difficultly with the transition. No matter what you're struggling with, one thing is for sure: you are ready for some relief. You’re ready to worry less and feel happier. You’re ready to learn how to cope with the stress and struggle that does come your way. Most of all, you’re ready to be kinder to yourself and feel a sense of calm.

Drawing on 25 plus years experience and training in psychodynamic therapy, CBT/
ACT
, and mindfulness interventions; I can help you create a life you can love, not just endure.
Reaching out for help isn't easy. We're afraid people will judge us if they find out how messed up we really are. We judge ourselves for not being strong enough to fix our own problems in the first place. So we start pretending. We pretend to be happier than we are, more successful than we are, stronger than we are. We get pretty good at it too. So good in fact that the pretending parts begin to take over and the real parts start to fade away. That's where the trouble begins and where I can help.

Tyson J Hall
Counselor, PsyD

Tyson combines attachment-based therapy,
Acceptance
and Commitment Therapy (
ACT
), and trauma-healing therapies such as EMDR and other mindful somatic-led therapies.
Tyson is a tele-health therapist who is passionate about working with people who find themselves in a place where they have suffered enough and desire true change. Therapy is a process that reveals the bright light within every person that is so often obstructed by pain and egoic defenses. He believes in the healing power of relationships that enable us to feel seen, soothed, loved and safe and that the extent to which a person has not experienced this, or may have experienced just the opposite, can sometimes reveal the need to grieve loss. On the other side of this grief is joy, peace and ultimately, real freedom.

You have taken a very positive step by deciding to seek therapy. By entering into this process, you recognize the power you hold in cultivating change, and you have the desire to reach a place of wellness . All the wisdom you need comes from within you; I can merely serve as a guide along your journey to find your wisdom. Often, we are not taught the tools needed to engage effectively with the challenges we are met with in life. You are seeking support to more effectively meet those challenges, so that you can flourish outside of the therapeutic space, both now and in the future.

I provide this safe and warm space by offering
acceptance
and nonjudgement.
When life gets busy, taking the time and energy to focus on relationships can be difficult. As relationships erode, significant others will often pull away or start fights because vulnerability feels too painful and frightening. A safe and warm space can be just what is needed to express vulnerability and experience deep and lasting love. Instead of spending Friday night arguing, you can once again spend time enjoying your partner.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
