Fundamentally, psychology twins with philosophy by asking the big questions (Who am I? What do I need? Why is it so? Could it be otherwise?). It carves a different path, however, in that it offers answers. I want to help you fall in love (again? the first time?) with the journey and, by extension, with the human journey. With clients, my best work occurs at the foundational level (Pillars of Mental Health) in service of reaching peak potential.

As a certified mental performance consultant with an MA in Sport Psychology, I work with athletes and performers who want to conquer their performance anxiety, strengthen their confidence, and renegotiate their relationship with making mistakes. Often, my clients feel like they: get stuck in their own heads; have trouble letting go of mistakes; struggle with perfectionism; are self-critical and getting in their own way; have to perform under pressure; are not communicating well with a coach or teammate; have lost confidence in skills that used to be second nature; and/or are struggling with the demands of being a student-athlete.

Welcome to a nurturing space where you need not face life's challenges alone. I understand the weight of worst-case scenarios and the drowning out of reason. Life transitions can be daunting, especially if you deviate from the heteronormative path. My approach is warm, laid-back, and compassionate. Our work is based on trust, respect, and your goals.
I’m a queer, neurodivergent therapist in the final year of an APA-accredited doctoral program, working toward licensure as a psychologist. My lived experience informs my work, and my dissertation research focuses on sensory neurodivergence and how our environments shape well-being.

When difficulties emerge, we have a choice, an opportunity. Challenges are part of life and although we navigate most with courage and confidence, there are times we feel powerless and stuck. By exploring new strategies for understanding our difficulties, we construct a different lens for viewing hardships and subsequently discover our unique capabilities and emerge stronger and wiser. Whether you are a parent struggling with the evolving dynamic of communication with your children, or a partner grappling with the ebb and flow in one's relationship, these are our most essential opportunities for a life changing transformation.

I offer therapy as a space of steady presence and real attunement—where your system is met, not managed. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what’s next, we begin by slowing down. I work with the body as well as the mind, helping you notice patterns that once protected you but may no longer be serving you. Through this kind of gentle, co-regulated attention, change becomes something that happens naturally—without forcing or fixing. Together, we follow your own rhythm of healing and build the trust it takes to explore what’s been too much to face alone.

St Augustine once wrote “People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars; and they pass by themselves without wondering.” Life asks a lot today. Our children need help with homework. Our jobs need us to produce more, our parents need us as age diminishes their abilities. After everything, one is left to wonder not at themselves, but at where all the time went?

Is anxiety a constant struggle? Do negative thoughts and worries keep you from exploring new possibilities? Or do you battle self-doubt, self-criticism, perfectionism, or the feeling that you are not enough? Maybe you are facing illness, injury, or a transition. Dealing with stress is natural; being perpetually “stressed out” and overwhelmed is not. Anxiety needn't rob you of your confidence and enthusiasm for the things that matter to you. You can develop new strategies for working with anxiety so you can manage challenges, achieve performance excellence, or just engage with your life more fully.

How does sports psychology work?
Sports psychology helps athletes identify and overcome challenges, such as perfectionism or a fear of failure, and improve key mental skills, such as confidence or concentration. By applying principles and techniques from psychology, such as goal-setting, visualization, positive self-talk, and emotion regulation, sports psychologists help athletes improve their performance on the field and their well-being overall.
How long does treatment for a sports-related problem take?
The duration of sports psychology treatment depends on the athlete’s individual challenges, goals, the complexity of the interventions used, and even on the length of the season. A performance anxiety issue may be treated with a short-term treatment, like Cognitive behavioural therapy, while issues such as depression, substance abuse, or severe anxiety may require longer-term treatments.
How effective is treatment for sports performance problems?
Sports psychology has been shown to improve performance and help athletes manage their emotions. Sports psychology can be effective in boosting performance, team dynamics, and injury rehabilitation. Over the past decade, nearly every professional sports team in every major sport has added a sports psychologist to its staff. Many colleges have done the same, and even some high school programs have done the same. Olympic hopefuls may consult with sports psychologists starting in elementary school.
What are the limitations of sports psychology?
Sports psychology may have several limitations. Every athlete is unique and may respond differently to sports psychology treatments. Therapy can help an athlete reach their potential; it can help athletes cope with injury and pain, but it cannot change the physical limitations that may be affecting an athlete’s performance.
