My professional interests and current training experience are in the area of personality and mood disorders. I have certification in treating psychological trauma and it connection to addiction. It is critical that professionals are trained in handling psychological trauma and addiction brought on by a variety of factors, including mental health factors. I identify the basis of negative emotional reactivity, look at the motivational factors of deviant behavior or impulsive behaviors in general and assist the client in gaining healthy life skills that will help them through their difficulties.

I work with clients who are addressing such issues as: grief and loss, health concerns that effect one's emotional and mental well-being, life-threatening diseases, addressing end-of-life transition as well as the aging process. I am a psychotherapist trained in systems theory. I have a master's degree in Applied Behavioral Science - Systems Counseling from the Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS) at Bastyr University. Systems counseling embraces each client as an individual living system.
